Starr wanted me to point out that all of OKC could reasonably be considered a dumpster fire.

to everyone who has never been to Oklahoma city;

Despite having the largest square mileage of any city in the USA, I don't think any building is higher than a mailbox and most of them are held up on cinderblocks with a boot on the foundation. No offense to MCE, but the last time I was in OKC I drove down the wrong street and dueling banjos started playing with a ranchero accordian and trumpet accompaniment.

tulsa is the better city get shit on okc

Well, I live in Norman right by campus which I think is much better than OKC. When I visit friends in OKC it's pretty trashy. Of course there are parts of Norman that are that way too, but not my neighborhood.  I am not very familiar with Tulsa but whenever I've been to Broken Arrow it's seemed nice.  If I had a car of my own here we could hang out.

There were fires in Norman on Saturday but nowhere near us, so I'm not sure how bad they got. Enough to see the smoke across town but not enough to smell it. The rain should be starting in Norman today or tomorrow

Only during Institute of Internal Auditors meetings, and then it's like buffet style, and the meat is all well done and I only like rare meat so I didn't like it :<

they're on the high end price wise but they are totally worth it. My wife and I went there for our anniversary a couple of years ago, and had a couple of t-bones with prairie oysters as an app. We spent nearly a hundred dollars for two, but it was the best goddamn steak I've ever had. It's phenomenal rare.

Maybe I'll steal the University vehicle and drive there tonight.  My fiance is really into nice restaurants so $100 for two wouldn't even faze him and even I'm getting used to spending that much occasionally.

July was America's hottest month in recorded history.

I like the part where Arizona is "Near Normal".  Because yeah I'm sweating like a motherfucker in 112 degrees, but I know you guys in Oklahoma are not used to that shit.

I love how immediate everyone's belief in global warming is.

During Summer: oh man it's so fucking hot and we're seeing record highs maybe there is something to this global warming thing

Winter: oh nvm it is raining global warming is a myth

I think that second line only applies on the west coast.

If it rains HERE in winter, than yeah, people go on about global warming then too!

I never hear the "Global warming is real" from the same people who bitch during the winter. That said, the term is kind of accurate but also definitely misleading if you're not versed in the science. The thing is, global warming refers to a statistical increase in the average mean temperature of the Earth for a year. This temperature has remained more or less constant until recently the last few decades, when it start slowly going up. And the thing is, the actual average mean temperature will only go up by like 3 degrees, but this will trigger radical extremes on both ends of the thermometer. It's just problematic that when scientists were first addressing the problem to the public they used "global warming.

It just irks me to know end that people can try and deny the entire thing by noting that it is snowing. In the winter.

I love rain.

But I swear I used to be able to deal with pressure changes without getting a massive headache.

Welcome to my life.  Be happy you live in Arizona instead of Virginia, for that.  I recommend Extra Strength Excedrin if you can find it, Anacin if you can't.

Do you understand how terrifying the words “vibrating strap on” are for an asexual? That’s like saying “the holocaust” to a Jew.

I took a couple ibuprofen and am feeling much better.

I keep extra-strength Excedrin onhand in case of migraines, but if ibuprofen can do the job I prefer it because I can still drink a beer later.
