LIRR shut down and the Manhattan bridge was closed today.

Now my mom is yelling at me that this is the best time to drive my sister into the city, help her pack, and bring her back because "there's no way there'll be any traffic".

P.S: It's a 70 mile drive each way in a square truck and the wind's been so strong that my record last night was five seconds off the ground.

I am convinced having a baby causes so much pain that it drives the woman permanently insane

this is the only explanation I can come up with to explain why moms say and act the way they do

Not that I would trade places with any of the poor bastards fighting blizzards right now, but there's something fucking jarring about living in a place where it's 80 degrees one week and 28 the next.

Tomatoes weren't quite under the sheet I put up and they froze.  Dammit.

One of them was actually starting to yield fruit.  Just to hammer home how fucking crazy a difference in temperatures we've had between last week and this one.

It's basically a nice start-of-spring day over here.

Geez, this is weird. It's actually mild and pleasant. Like the Weather Gods said "You can have a White Christmas, but that's it. No snow until February."

Who was it here who was once sitting in a car and was almost killed when a tree branch fell and went through the roof of the car they were sitting in, nearly impaling them? Was it Roger? I can't remember.

Anyway, having your car dinged up sucks, but be glad the tree wasn't out for your tasty blood. THIS TIME.

Welp, northeast oklahoma got shit on hard, half the roads in the city are closed, none of the snow is going to melt until friday at the earliest and my car is stuck in a snowdrift.

And I'm probably going to be expected to come into work tomorrow. :)

Snow. In the pacific Northwest. In late February.

And I'm not talking "Hey look a few flakes." I mean it's actually falling and sticking.
