I like how the Sonic Unleashed trailer actually thinks it's trailerworthy to have GOD OF WAR SONIC lift an object and place it on a switch to open a door.

TWENTY FIRST CENTURY GAME DESIGN KREZZY PEEPOL

Oh god. Runs around arabian places, swings a sword, turns into a monster version of himself, sonic IS the Prince of Persia.

Are you trying to get Thad to argue with you about something you both agree on?

Sonic IS The Black Knight, missing his arms and hopping on one foot yelling "I CAN STILL BE IN GOOD GAMES, REALLY, I MEAN IT, HEY COME BACK HERE"

My mind is completely blown by Sonic & The Black Knight. I cannot conceive of a world in which this is something the consumer wants. Who comes up with an idea like this? All I can think is that the various SEGA developers come to the pitch meetings with ideas completely divorced from the Sonic franchise; I imagine them giving eloquent presentations with concept art and story boards, and then the executives at the head of the table look up and say "That looks great, put Sonic in it and it's greenlit today". I imagine this happens to fully half of the games at SEGA.

I remember reading a fanfic some years back called Son-ak the Barbarian or somesuch, and it was actually pretty entertaining.

Of course, it was over-the-top violent and the writer actually showed some self-awareness in what a goofy damn thing he was writing; this game will have neither of those things.

I think the truth is, at the end of the day, SEGA discounts actual gamers as being meaningful targets of the franchise. They're aiming this at two crowds; the people who obsessed over the cartoons (later becoming furries) and people far too young to remember things as they once were. (children)

Sonic isn't for us anymore. It's for babies and sexual deviants.  ::(:
