Oh Sonic Unleashed. I really REALLY wanted to like you, but you done gone and hurt me.
Oddly enough, I'm actually pretty annoyed that the controls when running have been tightened up and I can no longer turn on a dime V-TEC style while instead steering like molasses on a frosty December morning.
WereSonic is actually moderately enjoyable, but most of his stages could stand to be shorter so I'm not button mashan like I'm punching someone as if I'd dropped into the world of Hokuto no Ken. The animations are for the attacks are pretty keen to watch and enemies aren't super frustrating to deal with unless you're doing the QTE critical finish moves.
Music is pretty good (but not quite as good as a few stage themes from 2006). Dialogue makes me want to
though.
And then...there's hunting for medals to unlock more stages.
Why, Sega? Why? What in the hell were you thinking when you decided that this was a good idea? I sure as hell don't want to replay stages over and over to comb over every inch of digital space in search of mandatory collectibles that let me advance through the game. I want to replay stages because they're enjoyable!
Also, grading system? Not game breaking, but really obnoxious.
