It occurs to me that Bale has never not played a guy with serious visible mental problems.  Was he a psychopath in Reign of Fire?  You don't have to answer if you don't want to admit to having watched Reign of Fire.

Pretty much everybody was, in that movie.  Especially the viewers.

Do you understand how terrifying the words “vibrating strap on” are for an asexual? That’s like saying “the holocaust” to a Jew.

Well, if you know about the whole fucking Psycho-Machinist-Batman thing he did, I'd argue he's a bit unbalanced himself.

He's one of those amazing people that's far enough out there in what he does to be kinda scary.

Am I gonna walk around and rip your fucking words down in the middle of a post? Then why the fuck are you walking right through, all da-da da-da like this in the background?! WHAT THE FUCK IS IT WITH YOU!?

I am sort of waiting to see him play anything that isn't a guy trying to hide his true emotions though. He does play that a lot. He plays it well though, so I dunno. A lot of good actors only really play one role, at least in their best work. Like, name a movie with Leonardo Dicaprio in it where he's good that isn't him playing some sort of scrappy underdog with a chip on his shoulder.

I'm sure that every actor with a career has blown up like that at least once.  Bale just made his seem like the sort of thing he usually gets paid for.

Why?  Because he ain't fuckin' amateur, fuck's sake!

He also had the decency to offer a full, actual apology and not even be all snippy about the five million remixes of it, even admitting they were funny.

(also he's still Christian Bale and the light dude is still unknown, although I guess he has a bar story now)

Wait a minute, battles of words don't count! Back to the real fighting!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoxOxQDeDJI

You too, immortal?

We haven't had a lot of video game fights in here although I guess this is technically not a video game fight since you don't interact with it at all and it's just a cut scene. But that said, I am open to actual video game fights (most of them being boss fights I guess) being posted.

As for this fight, MGS4 is a game I haven't actually played but it looks very silly and I'm not sure I really want too. That said, I do enjoy this fight for what it is and it's pretty damn entertaining in that special over-the-top Kojima way. It's got that cool difference of styles angle going for it that we seem to love so much with the cyborg ninja fighting a flamenco dancing vampire. I love vamp's little neck crack move when he dodges Jack's thrown sword and I love when Raiden uses the severed Metal Gear tendril to retrieve it. Also, purging knives from your body with a flex has to be one of the most badass moves possible. Vamp tries to top it by just pushing one all the way through himself, but just comes off as being creepy.

It sucks that later on, you can't really pay attention to Raiden and Vamp fighting while Snake
is keeping a shitload of kamikaze GEKKOs away from Metal Gear REX
unless you want a game over.  I can only hope we get a game of nothing but Cyborg Ninja Raiden fucking shit up next.  :want: so bad.

Gotta be honest, Quinton Flynn sure did a good job with Raiden in MGS4 though.  Although I still hear Jonny Quest talking when he says anything though.

Also, if you've ever seen a clip from Naruto and gone "Wow, that's actually a pretty rad fight" that is because they had Norio Matsumoto do the animation for certain sequences. Look him up on YouTube for some pretty fabulous clips from a number of programs.

Spent way too long hunting for that song, but the whole thing is just goddamn awesome.

I had the misfortune of watching that episode the first time I saw Samurai Jack.  I kept watching the show expecting something to match or top it and, well, I could only be disappointed.

Fuck, now I want to buy the DVD sets.

Which I will watch, and be ultimately disappointed that there was no conclusion.

I liked when he fought the blind archers who listened really well. That and anything with mafioso-characters. And the dogplanet was neat.

As much as the show was awesome, this is why I try to stay away from it.

Ah hell, I still need to buy the ReBoot box sets someday. At least the first three seasons.

Damn, I can't find a decent version of the Robo Samurai vs Mondo Bot fight on Youtube. There's just this sorta crappy abridged version that doesn't really do it justice. It's pretty much my favourite fight in the whole series.

I love the Sergio Leone esque quality that the whole series has, but that episode is probably the one that uses that sort of style the most. Even though you catch on pretty quick that the main focus of the sequence is going to be to display the largeness of the scale of the combatants more than any thing else, it still manages to really entertain me because it carries out that simple, somewhat 1-dimensional premise really well. The wide shots when Mondo Bot is firing really big weapons and the time it takes for the smoke to clear after each assault really work perfectly. I also love the shots of the huge bullet casings raining down on the buildings and city streets below him, abruptly crushing cars and so forth. The little details like the seagulls taking off, behind him, spooked by his sudden and colossal movements are cute too.

But then of course, it all comes down to a hand to hand fight and then a final, terminator style desperation attack.

Edit: Oh wait, I think I found it on some Italian site

http://www.blinkx.com/video/samurai-jack-xli-robo-samurai-versus-mondo-bot/7ul4nX3UBZkhlmchdLmx6A

of course, this is the whole episode. The fight I'm talking about starts at about the 10 minute mark.

Hmm. "Fight of the North Star" has a nice spin-off thread ring to it. Don't you agree, fellow meat balloons?

Part nostalgia. Part love of Japanese pseudo-opera. Nevertheless, a highly recommended (and mediocre) cartoon.

And it ends as it began. Thank you for players.
