Do you guys know how to make Twitter fun for me or for anybody

Follow people who want to entertain you, not people who put up tweets purely for vanity's sake!  If your update list is full of "just got home from work" "[hot celebrity] did this thing?  Whoaaaa!" "*unidentified bit.ly link*" "Hey guys! Vote for me in [dumb contest]!" then you have no reason to read it.  If you're doing it right, it can look like a series of cute, brief IMs from people you're interested in.

I follow comic artists. It's a lot like an RSS feed, but you get extra stuff and SOME people are entertaining. (Jeff Rowland is pretty decent)

Weird Al is not a bad follow. Wil Weaton usually has good links and thoughts. And Stan Lee. Stan motherfucking Lee is the best. It's just WALL OF TEXT WALL OF TEXT WALL OF TEXT with big words that he doesn't understand then silence for two days. THEN IT STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN

Best Facebook stalking story ever:

I met this girl last semester while I was doing an internship in Washington, D.C. She was from Canada and we both were pretty avid climbers, so we'd often hang out and go climbing every week. We've kept up on Facebook ever since and she's now doing a study abroad travel tour of Europe this summer and is currently in Brussels. She messaged me yesterday and after a few minutes of conversation mentioned that she wanted to climb while she was in Brussels but didn't know how to find a climbing partner. I suggested calling a climbing gym and seeing if they could hook her up, but she wasn't confident in her French abilities and said the only other people that spoke English were these random guys from South Carolina. I asked if they were hippies, as that was likely the only way they were randomly going to be climbers and she said she thought maybe they were, as one of them was a white dude with dreadlocks.

Now, the only white guy I happen to know with dreadlocks is this guy I used to climb with in Memphis, but he moved a year ago to.... South Carolina! Surely not, I say. What are the odds?

I check his Facebook page and sure enough, he was tagged three hours earlier in some pics from Brussels and is apparently travelling in Europe and staying at the same hotel she is. I send her a pic to confirm it's the same guy and it turns out it is him. I convince her to yell his name and ten seconds later I'm talking on Facebook chat with him! Surreal that two totally random people from different countries of origin that I happen to know who both happen to be climbers are in Belgium in the same city at the same hotel at the same time and are twenty feet away from each other, and I'm able to identify them via a relatively nondescript chat conversation.

Ahh facebook.  I only use it to keep up with people I usually wouldn't keep up with if there wasn't facebook.

Like I always say: I use social networking so I don't HAVE to talk with people!

Facebook is set up so you don't have to talk to people to hear about the,m. They just shout shit on the internet and your update page picks it up. Now you can "keep up with them" (and maybe more importantly) they get yours. This gives an illusion of talking and keeping up.  Meaning you don't have to talk to people.

It's the perfect form of social sites. Where it makes you LESS social!

I hate these things. The only social networking site I use (sparingly) is a BDSM-themed thing called Fetlife which is sort of cool.

However, that doesn't mean I don't have HILARIOUS ANECDOTES!

When I first joined, I only found one person in my town who was around the same age as me. We weren't really compatible (both submissive, into different things), but she seemed kind of neat, so I sent her a message saying hi.
Two months or so later she sends me a response. Turns out not only was she my next-door neighbour, she also sat next to me in my painting class. I never recognized her from her profile picture.
Yeah.
We actually did turn out to be pretty okay friends.

AHEM.

Penelton Ward  and his sexy lady artist:

http://twitter.com/natazilla

Pen is basically KC Green but with more pictures to post. And Natasha's comics are great and give you a inside look at the studios.

EDIT: Guess the URL coding doesn't work right anymore.
