my gaming dilema
« on: April 29, 2009, 09:26:26 AM »

Okay, Virtrual On Oreiental Tangent just came out on Xbox Live, so I can eather return my used RE4:Wii  (I still have a week) and  trade in some old games for it, or I can wait till friday when my boyfriend buys my .hack games off me.

Now Should I play through more of RE4 and see if I like it? I've only played for 30 minutes. It seems lioke a great game, but it's not my style to not kill everything in sight. Trying to just go from one place to another without killing things is strange.

Or should I finish Deus Ex for PS2? Is it worth finishing?

Beat Resident Evil 4 and develop some restraint.

Alternatively, get a job.

Trading in games is for retards who can't tell the difference between short-term losses for immediate gains vs long-term investment and the depreciation of value in goods.

And even some of those people have enough sense not to do it.

I used to (rarely) trade in games when I was younger. These days, though, I have a hard time giving up even games I don't think I'll ever really play.

That said, the only game I really regret trading was Skull Monkeys. That... that was a terrible, terrible mistake.

Meh, once I've beaten a game I simply don't want it anymore, unless I think it's worth keeping.  Otherwise I'll pawn it off to whoever will take it with the least fuss.

Or are you telling me I should hang on to my copy of Force Unleashed for the Wii?  If I can't trade it in then I'll just skeet-shoot the damned thing.

Dude is considering trading in Resident Evil 4 and other multiple games for a single title. Dude hasn't beaten Resident Evil 4. Dude hasn't played Resident Evil 4 past the tutorial stages.

I realized that buying games new is a high-risk investment around the same time I became old enough for it to be high-risk: when I became 18, bought God of War at release and realized I could've beaten the damn thing in a weekend.

So yeah, I'd advocate that you always wait wait wait wait wait wait wait until the title is dirt-cheap or you've determined you can't live without it. I got Fallout 3 for $50 after a few months and it's been worth every penny to me and I wasn't aware I needed it until Wiseman tricked me into watching him play it.

Maybe if you can just direct return it, which supports a shopping strategy of avoiding actual electronics stores and trawlin' around Walmart and shit. Sounds like a good time!

And well.. Force Unleashed? For the Wii?

I don't care what you do, you're already dead ripped off.

I bought a used copy of re4. That means I can return it for full value. I wouldn't trade a game in after a day for 40% value.

I guess that makes not playing an excellent game and giving up a few other games for one game NOT a retarded idea, you retard?

Look kid, I know how the world works. Don't back-sass me when I'm giving you the answer you started a thread topic about. Play RE4 and go mow some lawns or scam people for your freeware or something if you really need to play another shitty mecha fighter and wait a god damn week to do it.

Was a gift, obviously.

Anyway, if you honestly don't want the thing and can just regurgitate it back for exactly what you paid for, why the hell not?  In this case, though, I'm going to predict you'd get more enjoyment from RE4 than a modern-day SEGA game, despite the fact... no, because of the fact that you're apparently a fan of it.  That's a quality assessment though.

Basically if a game is useless to you then it's just cash.  If it isn't... well, it'll still be cash later, so hang onto it.  And like Doom says, you always have the third option of actually working for it.

Also: The PS2 version of Deus Ex sucks a big fat dong. Toss that shit and buy the PC version, it's like 10$ on Steam.

One terrible game on Dreamcast was enough for me, why would I need a copy of a terrible game on my X-Box?

Why don't you start saving for Halo Wars?

Well, because netplay support probably turns it into something other than a "circle-strafe the shitty AI" fest.

Also it's like 12 damn dollars how the hell many games do you need to trade in for that?
