Technically nothing ever removes all traces of fish AIDS.  They are slimy fucking things full of parasites and rot.

Enjoy your mackerel!  :want:

You know how eating too much bacon invariably makes you sick?

Just made the "toasted nut orzo" from the Achewood cookbook.  I know I'm risking Pat flaming my ass off for saying this, but I've had olive oil before and didn't really notice anything special about it.

I used way too much Tapatio in this quesadilla.  Now the whole thing tastes like cheap tomato sauce.  Oh, and some capsicum.

* Box of four Tyson breaded chicken breasts (southern style)
* Two cups of Kraft Easy-Italia alfredo
(This is enough to do this twice)

Microwave two chicken strips.  Make one cup of alfredo as per instructions, let it set for a minute when done.  Pour noodles and sauce over chicken.  For better sauce saturation, cut up the chicken into forkable bits before pouring the noddles/sauce.

That's actually pretty good and it's about $4 a serving.

Just this week I bought some fresh, uncooked chicken strips from the supermarket.  Season them and throw them in a frying pan with some oil (no breading or anything), and it's easily some of the best chicken I've ever had.

Largely guilt-free too, considering how low-fat and high-protein chicken is.  I don't think I could go back to deep-fried microwavable breaded stuff.

Attempted to make Turkish Delight.  Ended up with sugar-coated lumps of cornstarch and about a quarter-inch of what I hope is Turkish Delight proper inexorably stuck to the wax paper that was intended to keep it from getting stuck to the bottom of the tin I poured it into.

For the longest time I thought Turkish Delight is just something you give to little boys to convince them to come back into the closet to play with you.

...

I mean...

Oh fuck it I meant it exactly the way it sounded.

I made Kazz special awesome delicious stuff for valentines day.  On the cakewrecks blog, there was a link to a most adorable cake (they do cute and wellmade cakes on sundays) that looked like a box of chocolates.  The box itself was actually a cake with fondant around it and then there were truffles on top that looked like they were in the box.  Now I'm not ambitious enough to attempt the box part, but the truffles were actually made of cake too.

I got this recipe from the blog linked by cakewrecks.  I think Bakerella or something dumb.

All you have to do is bake a red velvet (or any other flavor really) cake from a box mix and then let it cool.  Then you crumble it up in a big bowl and mix it with an entire container of cream cheese frosting.  Then you take that mixture, which is very messy, and you form it into little balls or whatever sneaky shapes you want to make them into.  Refrigerate for several hours and then melt some chocolate and dip the balls into that.  Then be prepared for deliciousness.  Super deliciousness.

I'm not a chocolate guy who has his arms ripped off and consumed by passing motorists but I enjoyed these nonetheless.

Really cool, but I'd make it and buy canned frosting.  And probably use what the recipe on the box called for because I'm not so weight conscious that I can't handle eating a cake the way Betty Crocker intended.

Hot dog juice.  They ought to just sell that stuff in plastic squeeze bottles.
