:jizz: Please don't tease me, baby.  (But only if it's like Front Mission 3 and not shitty bad 4.)

And its rumored that the Capcom PC ports have fucking SECUROM.

I wasn't a big fan of Front Mission 4 since every instance of combat took anywhere from an hour and a half to two.  Not because of difficulty, but because every map was pretty damn big, opposing forces were crazy numerous and the AI was a little retarded.

Also, no in-game internet, pilot ejection or hell, even seeing the pilots outside of their talking portraits.  Part of FM3's charm was seeing the block pixelated messes of pilots interacting outside of their wanzers.  At least, that was part of the charm for me.

Front Mission 4's combat mechanics were superior, but god damn did everything take a million years to play out. I eventually just quit that game. Maybe I should play through 3 again. I loved that game, but I never did finish my play through of the Sister storyline.

I'm just going to quote a Pyoko Post I made as I was actually playing Front Mission 4.

Quote from: Doom
Front Mission 4 is the cheapest, stupidest piece of retarded shit ever constructed by man.

You know, once you reach the second Ivanovna crab fight. The Zaftran Resource Base is almost as bad.

I wish I was kidding, but you only have to kill 3 specific wanzers with 50%+ dodge rates within two rounds or start losing wanzers to super missle fire. After this, you only need to kill about 7 guys in 5 rounds before a CANNOT DIE NPC retard kamikazes himself on superior enemy numbers IN A FUCKING TANK.

AAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

THE TANK IS SHOOTING AT 50 FOOT TALL AND 100 FOOT WIDE OBJECTS AND MISSING. POINT BLANK.

AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH
13702 EARNED
11840 MAINTENANCE

Then I go on to say it's a good purchase because I was retarded at the time, I guess. It's probably worth the $5 it retails for nowadays, but FM3 is miles above it.

Thread derail. What was the primary loadout of your main character's Wanzer in Front Mission 3? I went with fist and shotgun for him.

God, I never actually completed FM3, but shottie and fist was the default loadout for Kazuki.  Lancer Ryogo usually had machine guns, and his initial machine included parts that would trigger ROF 1 (Rate of Fire Up), and so I just set ROF 1 in his wanzer's computer so he would unload like five volleys of machine gun fire, ripping apart most weak machines.

Turns out fist and shotgun is the way to go, I guess. I tried to have everyone fill a specific role, and he was definitely the shock trooper.

I think more people played through the Emma side of the story, because the two paths of the plot diverged on a single innocuous point: very early in the game, Ryogo asks you if he can tag along with you on a delivery job.  If you tell him 'Yes', then you go down the Emma path.  If you say 'No', then you go down the Alisa path.

It was important for Ryoji to be broken as hell because there is a near-the-end mission in Emma-story where he has to single-handedly hold off like five enemy mechs while Main Character + Other PILOT RUN for their lives.

Shotgun/Fist Shock, Ryoji Snipe, MISSILES MISSILES MISSILES, and Novelty Faggot(Rifle, Grenade/FlameThrower Backpack, more likely to help others heal than shoot)

I liked using the 10000HP in every slot secret internet Wanzer with the Shotgun and Fist to just wade in and kill every god damn thing I wanted. Oh, you've got one of those beam cannons? Turns out I don't care and I'm just going to punch your fucking arms off.

In this world of giant robots, the entirety of Europe consolidated in to one country.

And North and South America unified in 2020 due to economic strain.

First mass-production wanzer was built in 2029.

yeah well like me and jade coccoon didn't need you around here anyway man

(that was actually Miyazaki?  that's pretty cool, I knew the design was something amazing and not often seen)

(default layout for me too, fist and shotgun)
