Hi! I am posting this from a beautiful apartment in the beautiful city of Cluj-Napoca, the cultural capital of the region of Romania known as Transylvania!
Two days ago I arrived into Budapest after being awake for 36 straight hours (dear shit I hate flying). What followed was an exciting trip through a bizarre agrarian countryside that is being dragged, kicking and screaming, into modern Europe. Literally, luxury cars on dirt roads buzzing by old women in black babushkas whose daughters are wearing hoodies bearing the Playboy bunny. It is total freaking madness.
The landscape is about as perfectly photogenic as landscape gets. I haven't taken many photographs because I don't own a fucking camera, but I'll pick up a cheap one soon maybe and try to snap a few. In the meantime you can do a GIS for "Romania" and pretend I took those.
Here's something fucking insane. The prices of things here are comparable to those in the US, like, you go to a restaurant for a sandwich and it's like 5 bucks and a Coke is 2 bucks, or whatever. But the kicker is that it takes 1 USD to buy 3 Romanian Lei. So that 7 dollar lunch is really about $2.33. What I'm saying is that I will be spending a lot of time in bars.
But yeah. It's nuts. Like, you know WoW where you'll suddenly be in the tall trees and then you're suddenly in the flats and then you're suddenly in high mountains with hills rolling all around you, like, that's how it is here. Lots of cows and sheeps.
I'm in the city now, though, and it might as well be any given city in the world. Not as exciting, but more to do.
Post questions, I'm shitty at recalling things without prompts.
Love ya.
