The fact that he keeps his cool through that whole retarded shout fest is pretty impressive to me. He's a good spokesperson for the Obama campaign in general; a strong but well thought-out and mature response to yelling, out of context garbage, hateful accusions, and fake outrage.

Bill Burton has been with the campaign since its founding, and is hopefully on the Press Secretary shortlist.

...now see, I don't know whether I should thank you for posting something that belongs in this thread, or admonish you for straight links submitted without comment.

The Exile.  NSFW, unfortunately.

I wanted to make a topic of news sources that don't involve slapping "CNN" into a google bar, somebody should split these posts off into such a thing. IT'S KING DOOM DAY HOORAY

Yeah, sorry it wasn't any more groundbreaking than that.

So AOL is buying HuffPo for $315 Mill. And Ariana Huffington is going to be put in charge of ALL of AOL's news and news-related content as part of the deal.

Hurm.

I was completely unaware that AOL had "news outlets"

NYT's okay for domestic news.  Harper's is overall the best for quality of commentary but lacks scope.  The Economist remains pretty good overall, as does Bloomberg Business Week; Bloomberg's probably the best overall for free online news right now.  Glenn Greenwald is currently the Howard Zinn Heavyhitter but Salon is wretched; honestly, if everything about it were twice as good as it is it still wouldn't be half as good as Harper's or Mother Jones.  Onion AV Club is the best entertainment news and commentary in any medium.  If you aren't getting your legal news from scotusblog.com, rectify that immediately.

Print subscriptions to Harper's and the Economist are cheap and the most likely to get you laid. Internationally, Al Jazeera, Der Spiegel, and the Telegraph are all pretty good; Der Spiegel in particular saved me a couple grand by calling the subprime crisis back in 2006.

That's kind of the point of giving someone a few hundred mil to fix their shit.

Also: Paco's list is pretty good.
