The Social Networking thread has information scattered throughout, but there's no dedicated post with everyone's info. If we had that, I'd suggest starting such a thread in Guild Hall.

I'd sign up for this but all you'd get out of me is either Doom .wads and mods, really old FPSes (Duke Nukem 3D, Blood et al.), slightly newer FPSes with a never-ending stream of vitriol expressing the amount of anti-fun they generate or some combination of the three.

Totally watching that one.

Admit it, we all want to see each other getting mad at a very stupid game.

(Det convinced me to somehow simulcast myself playing Punch-Out using the Wii-chuck and Board, since I'm probably the only guy around stupid enough to own the damn thing and actually use it.)

I own the board and will have Punch-Out soon, so I'm definitely going to try it out. But just not in front of anyone.

I am running out of clever things to call the places where I put shit up on the Internet.  Currently home to a test run of me playing E1M1 through E1M4 (E1M9 included) in Doom with a weapons mod which, for some reason, does not play past 4:53 for me in On-Demand.

You're all enablers.  You know this, right?

I am honestly still really tempted to get a board just for Punch-Out!!

Well, I'll put it up now then at http://www.livestream.com/thebonusroom

I'll start something up once people are in channel. Lets see if I can beat the whole game. I'm a little rusty so Super Macho Man and Nick Bruiser will probably put me down a few times at least.

...aaaaaand for some reason Procaster doesn't like Painkiller or Duke Nukem 3D, making them either run fuckshits slower or reducing the framerate to about unplayable frames per second, and with ePSXe and Doom source ports it runs for about five or six minutes before it stops recording and spits up an error message, closing and bringing the former with it.  I guess it just HATES FUN or something.

Procaster does not play well with TF2.   :sadpanda:

It probably doesn't capture DirectX device instances correctly.  That's a pretty common problem with early versions of image editors and video capturers and whathaveyou.  Geo was having problems earlier until he disabled DirectX in his emulator.

ePSXe you can probably switch to an OpenGL plugin, and I dunno anything about Duke3D ports, but there's probably a non-DirectX one.  TF2... uh, you'd have to do something crazy like stream it into a capture device or something else that probably won't work.

Well, the crazy part was that ePSXe was using an OpenGL graphics plugin; the Doom port was, as I recall, also OpenGL and only crapped out when running in fullscreen.  When windowed it had the same sorts of lag problems as Painkiller and Duke yet seemed to run without crashing.  If I didn't know any better I'd say that multi-core made it vomit on itself, but seeing as how Bain managed to get FarCry 2 working on it then I don't know what the fuck.

Well maybe it's a problem with OpenGL and not DirectX then.  Though I've never see that happen before.

OKAY!  Double-posting, but who gives a fuck?  I sure don't! (EDIT: Turns out I did, which is why the post doesn't exist anymore.)

So!  I'm not sure I said this (I probably did a while ago in the Babble About A Video Game You're Playing thread), but for reasons unknown I chose to play all the major FPSes using the Lithtech engine in roughly chronological order.  I'm not really sure why, but it might have had something to do with me deriving enjoyment from things with a noted lack of quality.  The games in question were (or are):

Shogo: Mobile Armor Division
Blood II: The Chosen
No One Lives Forever
KISS: Psycho Circus: The Nightmare Child
Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza
Aliens versus Predator 2
No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy In H.A.R.M.'s Way
Contract J.A.C.K.
Tron 2.0
F.E.A.R.

Of those, I really only enjoyed the Marine campaign of AvP2 and NOLF2, with the latter being the only game on the list that I'd play again.  Been meaning to get around to that last one eventually, and now that I have something that panders to my vanity I have a reason to do so.  This is entirely dependent on whether or not people give a shit, but if they do, I propose a (more or less) special series of broadcasts.  To wit:

I will be playing F.E.A.R., and I will be playing it mostly blind.

I say "mostly" because I went through the first two levels trying to get this shit to work properly so I've got them down pat, but after that I'm roughly clueless.  Will there be more enemies than just guys with Not MP5s?  Is the FEAR team actually capable of doing things besides dying horribly?  Why is Samara hanging around a clone army?  Are human skeletons really indestructible?  Who knows?  I sure don't, but I hope I figure it the fuck out eventually!  In the meantime you can see me shooting things, suffering vivid hallucinations of shock site .jpgs and making non-stop references that utterly destroy the atmosphere the game was trying to build up!

Interest willing, of course.

Bah, fuck interest.

I'm playing FEAR on the 29th (tomorrow/Friday) at midnight EST if anyone cares to watch me make an ass of myself in front of complete strangers.

Just assume I'm saying "yes, I will watch" to each post you make.
