OKAY! Double-posting, but who gives a fuck? I sure don't! (EDIT: Turns out I did, which is why the post doesn't exist anymore.)
So! I'm not sure I said this (I probably did a while ago in the Babble About A Video Game You're Playing thread), but for reasons unknown I chose to play all the major FPSes using the Lithtech engine in roughly chronological order. I'm not really sure why, but it might have had something to do with me deriving enjoyment from things with a noted lack of quality. The games in question were (or are):
Shogo: Mobile Armor Division
Blood II: The Chosen
No One Lives Forever
KISS: Psycho Circus: The Nightmare Child
Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza
Aliens versus Predator 2
No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy In H.A.R.M.'s Way
Contract J.A.C.K.
Tron 2.0
F.E.A.R.
Of those, I really only enjoyed the Marine campaign of AvP2 and NOLF2, with the latter being the only game on the list that I'd play again. Been meaning to get around to that last one eventually, and now that I have something that panders to my vanity I have a reason to do so. This is entirely dependent on whether or not people give a shit, but if they do, I propose a (more or less) special series of broadcasts. To wit:
I will be playing F.E.A.R., and I will be playing it mostly blind.
I say "mostly" because I went through the first two levels trying to get this shit to work properly so I've got them down pat, but after that I'm roughly clueless. Will there be more enemies than just guys with Not MP5s? Is the FEAR team actually capable of doing things besides dying horribly? Why is Samara hanging around a clone army? Are human skeletons really indestructible? Who knows? I sure don't, but I hope I figure it the fuck out eventually! In the meantime you can see me shooting things, suffering vivid hallucinations of shock site .jpgs and making non-stop references that utterly destroy the atmosphere the game was trying to build up!
Interest willing, of course.
