Okay, so web-based television in Canada is starting to impress me.  CTV has jumped on this bandwagon for about a year now, and they're really doing well with their "single commercial on breaks", online viewers.

So far, I've been interested in

watch.ctv.ca,
watch.thecomedynetwork.ca,
watch.spacecast.com

ctv has sweetened the deal with episodes of "the littlest hobo" which was a staple of my childhood, and if you're (a) canadian and (b) watched the series...

well A^~B = ~A.

Stargate universe, colbert, daily show..

global has also been starting to get its act together, but they're really failing in getting a coherent flash-based viewer as ctv has.  Also, they've got the animated lineup, which will suffice.

While I'm still annoyed that the television types have created artificial borders imposed over a globalized means over a globalized product, at least the effects are mitigated enough to placate me.

How's streaming television in the states?

Red Dwarf: Back to Earth is like a really bizzare episode of the TV show. There's no reason this needed to be a three parter, as the entire second part is literally just the four of them killing time in London, but the payoff was pretty great and I'd say this is a better series sendoff than most shows tend to get.

Thad, for some reason I think you'll love this.

Finally got around to finishing Life on Mars today during the travels home.  I know a show is fucking good when it gets me to actually like procedural plots.

Hopefully Ashes to Ashes, which I know next to nothing about but intend to check out next, doesn't do anything to tarnish the goodtimes.

I am so glad that Conan is being kicked out of the Tonight Show so we can regress back to Jay Leno.  That just made my day.

So Human Target looks like it might be a hit. The pilot was good fun, so here's hoping it maintains its momentum.

I love Walter to fucking death but man everyone else on that show is just mind-blowingly awful.

I also really like those intro scenes that play out like the best part of some B-grade sci-fi flick. If you've gotten to the one where the guy's changing on the plane, that one's my favorite so far.

edit: found it

I'm only 3 episodes in and Being Erica is totally adorable.  It's time travel but it's also a girly show that for the first time in my life has me shouting NO ETHAN KISS HER WHAT ARE YOU DOING ETHAN NO at the televisionhulu.

My brother turned me onto this show the other day, Californication, and so far I'm absolutely loving this. Great to marathon a season at a time on a down rainy night.

I might make a topic on this, I dunno, but it's definitely worth a look.

I don't believe it, but I actually saw a GOOD EPISODE of that usually atrocious Star Wars CGI cartoon.

How did they pull it off? Well, they made a whole episode that didn't have that stupid padawan girl or Anakin Skywalker in it. The whole episode was KIT FUCKING FISTO and his Mon calamari padawan trapped in Grevious' home after being lured there by Dooku who deactivated the security and didn't tell Grevious just to see if he was losing his touch or not.

The result? They got to show off Grevious' dark and war trophy adorned personal hide away including statues of how he used to look before he was all Dick Cheney Darth Vaderized and it turns out he looked like this cool alien dervish guy.

We get a couple little fights with clones, Grevious' personal guard droids with the buzzing sticks, jedi, and Grevious all culminating in a one on one Fisto-Grevious fight once everyone else is dead. Fisto uses two lightsabers at one point and Grevious uses four at one time and even craftily kills a guy with a blaster after blocking his light saber.

This is what this cartoon is suposed to be, a continuation of the dark and action packed Gendy cartoon, not Anakin and Mary Kate's adventures in terrible Lucas dialog and fight choreography!
