Because clearly the desire for originality was my impetus for posting, I certainly did not express that there may have been anything else involved.

Timeliness that only applies to you doesn't make something less banal to others.

Time for a sequel to an earlier post.

I love Bowser's themes because they're so uniquely Bowser's. They belong to him. From that weird-ass instrument in the first Paper Mario's "Angry Bowser" theme to the glorious, comical marches of TTYD, you know Bowser is the King because his themes make you know.

I'm probably the only person alive who enjoyed TYD more than the original and hated SPM.

SPM came after TYD.  Did you just mean Paper Mario?

He means that he liked TYD more than the original(Paper Mario) and did not like Super Paper Mario.

I agreed but added I have not played SPM yet.

Well of course TYD was better.  It was the only game in the series that RAWKED

I really loved Thousand-Year Door's way of exploring different kinds of stories in each chapter: the fantasy quest to kill the dragon, a territorial conflict between warring tribes, the drama-riddled journey of a professional fighter in the arena, the creepy mystery with the terrible twist you have to set right...

I think I agree with dessgeega, though, in that while Thousand-Year Door's triumphs are greater than the original game's, its failings are likewise the worse.

(Super Paper Mario should just be stricken from the record, honestly.)

I liked TYD a bit more than Paper Mario, but Paper Mario really was the purest, as dessgeega says. There's something incredibly sincere about the story being Bowser Defeats Mario and leading back up to Mario Fights Bowser.

There was nothing too terrible about Super Paper Mario. It shares it's predecessors' completely bizarre sense of humor (for a Mario game) and has plenty of the same charm.

The Doopliss section in TYD remains my favourite to this day, simply because of how shocked I was that a Mario game, of all things, managed to hit me with an awesome twist.

Sorry, but I can't agree. Super Paper Mario is the platformer version of the RPG version of a platformer with a story more vapid than most jRPGs and which takes entire scenarios from the earlier games and reproduces them wholesale. Occasionally there will be a moment of cleverness in the game design or writing, but mostly there's just inanity. ("I'm not cragging your crag, brah.") Most damningly, the game does not value you time or attention. I probably wouldn't dislike it so much were it not for that.

That last video is just ass, like somebody just produced poop in MP3 form.

Let us recover from the pain of it.

Huh, Youtube has no music from Misadventures. Probably because it is now the rarest game in the world.

It's all good, but my favorite starts at 1:23. The boss music at 3:23 is something else, too. The whole game has crazy good music, most of which isn't even on that video. It's probably in my top 10 NES soundtracks.

Magma is your standard catchy lava-themed rock.. but you know, I dig that sort of stuff. So here we go.

But Stargazer! God Damn, this is an epic Pokemon bout arena. This theme makes you feel like your dreams of being aPokemon master and facing the best there ever were is not totally gay and may even come true and ohhhhhhhh so epic.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jE_q2MdWiaE&feature=related

did it just get a little EPIC in here

I think it did

Zodd is one of my favorite heartless evils and his fight in the Dreamcast version is just ball-bustingly difficult. The theme is pretty grim stuff that the Berserk series in general eats for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Maybe it's the combination of his relentless stomps that makes it so vicariously thrilling.
