If you wanna jerk off to inferior remixes when I posted the best remix a week ago, I guess.

Sure, if you liked that cacophonous sound the GBA series used too often.

I do.

Anyways.

El Gigante was one of the best set fights in the game. The pacing, context, the scene narratives, all that stuff. It's magnificent. A Heroic Dog reference just seals the deal. The music is awesome.. I love it when tracks sync up with what could actually be happy and those heavy drums would suit the earth-saking steps of Gigante perfectly. The only sorrow is that once you get strong enough/New Game+, you barely have enough time to register Gigante and his music before you blow him away.

Because I can't find single tracks, have a random selection of the songs from the Arcade/Genesis/PC Engine game "Truxton" (also known as Tatsujin)

Yeah they were gimmick fights.  But they had good music for gimmick fights.

It's not often I can dig a track on a game I have not played in detail myself. But stumbling upon this ditty from Phantasy Star 4 in association with Zio was just the best. The track name itself reaches out to tickle your brain right. Laughter. Fighting the servant of a Dark God who summons a grim, taunting effigy of that God to hover over the battlefield. The theme delivers a sense of urgency and primal life-or-death tones. It will be a quick, brutal battle that ends in absolute slaughter with no room for humor or misunderstanding.

The icing of any good game is a strong song from the ending and the credits.  It just helps you savor your long road you've traveled even better.  My favorites are always the ones that get you misty eyed.

...which is why I still get pissed because Final Fantasy X didn't have a remix of "Final Fantasy" in it at all.

This one gets points for being the only station I listened to in the original GTA3.

The next one is a controversial addition to the VGMusic Thread but I think it is impossible to argue against as it is simply the best radio station in the entire series. I really can't do it justice in a description. I happily listened to the full contents dozens of times over and Vice City remains, in my mind, the most perfectly polished and playable a GTA can be.

Sometimes you stumble across a soundtrack you can enjoy without experiencing the game first-hand. Such is the story of Riveria, which to this day I have still not played past the opening tutorial because OCD.

Hi I can't check an 18 page thread full of YouTubes to see if this was already posted.

I don't really expect anyone but me to care that much or keep track.

Speaking of which, it's getting tougher and tougher each day, but it's fun to keep the record alive and to subject myself to exciting new music or to struggle to remember old classics, like this next number:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJsFBfsymEI&feature=PlayList&p=F4D5B833418A9ECE&index=43

I seem to be relying more and more on youtube to guide me to a vaguely related next track..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQwZY0g4f0Q&feature=related

Maybe there's some mental hang-up interfering, like how I don't feel inclined to seek out music for games I haven't actually played yet. It basically comes down to raw chance or a recommendation from a friend.

I also feel strangely inclined to try and avoid the blindingly obvious unless I think it's too good to otherwise avoid. Some of you silly posters act like VG Music Thread is a race and that if we don't post every individual Gitaroo Man track, they'll somehow be gone forever.

I mean, we all know what Lavos' Theme sounds like and the primal dread it incurs. But how about this incredibly catchy number?
