Aren't most of us dead or locked in sheds by the time we get to the bit with the wire?

What are you complaining about, Mr. Big Comfy Couch? I'm the one lying on a gurney with my arms bitten off.

See, what we're talking about here is an organism that imitates other life forms, and imitates them perfectly. While it's true that Clark was close to the dogs, we were all exposed to it at some point or another. It could be any one of us. I think it's better to know as much as possible; the more information we have, the better equipped we are to combat this thing, whatever it is.

For that reason, if Windows isn't willing to test himself, I'll be perfectly happy to administer the test myself.

Seconding Windows, but not willing to vote too early and potentially help blow his chance to test.

I just realized there's a pretty big obvious way to break this game but in the interest of not being murdered by Friday I'm just going to keep it to myself.

Rule Change:

A player with two or more votes on them cannot throw dynamite.

A player who has been tested and is revealed to be The Thing cannot throw dynamite.

This is to prevent a player who is already revealed to be The Thing, or a player who is under more than passing suspicion of being the Thing, to simply suicide bomb with their dynamite.

Keep in mind that since dynamite can only be used during the day, and reaching voting majority for a test immediately ends the day, you must use your dynamite before voting majority is reached.

I will include this rule update in the next update to make sure everyone sees it.

Pick a test target, Windows. Do it now.

I toss my dynamite at Dr. Copper.

Nobody else should vote for Windows before he's picked a test target. I did it to 'tie him up' with votes.

Screaming obscenities, Blair runs forward and lights his fuse.

"What the fuck are you doing --" Dr. Copper is blown to bits.

He was a Flamethrower.

Oh, wait.  He's definitely a human, according to the rules.

Just a complete asshole, I guess.

Windows better test someone right now, this shit is already too fucked up.

And test YOURSELF god dammit.  Like they said, if you're a Thing you're gonna kick and scream to never be tested.  If you're a human, all that stuff you said is a chance no matter what.  Do it.

OK, so I've come to decision.

I'm going to restart this game.

However, only the game roles will be scrambled. Everyone keeps their character.

Guild/Blair is being replaced with MYSTERY PLAYER so you don't just know who it is.

Sending PMs with new game roles. These PMs will be sent to the Player accounts, not the character.

OK. Your account should have been sent a PM stating if you were human, dynamite, flamethrower, or The Thing. Check your actual account for the new role.

R. J. MacReady, Helicopter pilot
Dr. Blair, a station biologist
Childs, the station's mechanic
Nauls, the station's cook
Palmer, the station's backup helicopter pilot and mechanic
Dr. Copper, the station's physician
Vance Norris, the station's geophysicist
George Bennings, the station's meteorologist
Clark, the station's wrangler who takes the "thing" dog in when it arrives
Garry, the station commander
Fuchs, the station's other biologist
Windows, the station's radio operator

It is now Day 1.

It takes 7 votes to administer the test to someone.

In addition, Bennings has the second test, used at his discretion, today. He may use this to clear himself. He must use this before the day advances or seven votes are reached.

Tomorrow at midnight, Pacific Time, I will be advancing the game to night phase if seven votes have not been reached by then.

Game (re)Start.

RULE CHANGES:

A player with two or more votes on them cannot throw dynamite.

A player who has been tested and is revealed to be The Thing cannot throw dynamite.

This is to prevent a player who is already revealed to be The Thing, or a player who is under more than passing suspicion of being the Thing, to simply suicide bomb with their dynamite.

Keep in mind that since dynamite can only be used during the day, and reaching voting majority for a test immediately ends the day, you must use your dynamite before voting majority is reached.

Dynamite may not be used on Day 1.

Yeah, those dogs.  Where are they by the way?  I think I'll wonder off down this dark corridor to try and find them.
