Most of these achievements look like fun.  I'm still not 100% clear on how the backburner works, other than the fact you need to be behind people for it to work best.

Also much happier with what looks like the final design for the alternate axe.  The concept art looked a bit too stone age.

I don't really get the over all design of the Axetinguisher, to be honest. It's always looked a bit too, I dunno, road warrior to me. It doesn't really match the Merry Melodies/Tom & Jerry look of the rest of the game's designs. That said though it's actual effect and perfect name are pretty cool and hilarious respectively. I'm thinking that some sort of melee ranged oil can squirter thing would have looked better although it would have required a suitably funny name.

The back burner works just like the regular flamethrower it just has an increased critrate on enemies backs and won't have the new compressed gas shot that the regular flamethrower has been granted. Compressed gas shot sounds awesome and will make pyros the undisputed masters of CQC they need to be as well as provide them with a neat trick against many of their long range nemeses. I'm thinking that they are also really good turret defenders now with flame to ignite saboteurs and compressed blasts to foil rocketmen and cyclopes alike.

The Flaregun looks really neat, it's something I would see myself using a lot if it was just an additional weapon to my load out or if I could replace my axe with it. As it stands though, I think I'd rather have what I assume is going to be the superior burst damage of the shotgun since its ability to initiate an attack or keep the damage going when approaching or fleeing an enemy respectively is a big part of playing this class effectively. The Flare gun sounds like more of an annoyance weapon than a real damage dealer as it probably just ignites enemies and does standard burn damage with out much actual shot damage and probably a low rate of fire (bad choice of words). I will obviously use it occasionally to get the achievement if nothing else though.

Basically, I'm probably gonna start playing some TF2 again for the first time in a while just because the Firejack was always my favourite class. The fact that he was way more effective than he ever was in the original TF was one the best aspects of the game to me and it now looks like he will have even more uses in a game and will be a lot more fun to play seeing has he will be all the more frightening in close quarters with his numerous methods of crit assurance.

I'm actually thinking of changing my screen name from Fake_Kraid to Red Adair and just playing pyro full-time for a while

Flaregun has a BIG advantage over the shotgun in a major area, RANGE

I seriously wonder if the air blast will allow a pyro to launch himself and if it's able to reflect medic needles.

Unknown about launching yourself, but I'm sure it will work on medic needles, not that you'd want to. It sounds instantaneous, so, assuming it emits as some kind of wave, you'd be lucky to catch a handful of nails. Hardly worth it.

If you can bounce needles back at the target, would the life-drain needles work on the medic they originated from?

It's three health per needle, so, pursuant to my previous point, who gives a shit.

I know I'm the last person to be saying anything about TF2, but... isn't giving the Pyro a long-range weapon going against the point a little?

If it just ignites, with low to no impact damage, then it continues in the great trend of what pyros do best.  Tick people off.  They pryo does not kill you the way the surprise crit-rocket does, or the quick shank of a spy from behind.  The pyro loiters around, and gives people a little time (even if only a few miserable, burny seconds) to realize he is there, and he is trying to kill you.  If they give the pyro new toys with which to harass and annoy (and eventually kill you), then it's very much in the spirit of being pyro.

It's breach-loading, single-shot style flare gun. I get the impression that it is either very low damage on impact or has a very low rate of fire if not both. So it's not like they are giving the pyro a fiery version of the soldier's bazooka, they are just giving him a ranged ignition tool. You can probably pick off low health stragglers with it, but I think the main point of it is just to weaken and annoy high ranged enemies as well as initiate your burn damage before you get in range to toast them the standard way and thus speed up kills a little. You can also light up scouts that get out of your thrower range before you have a chance to fire.

I'm surprised they didn't give him a Molotov cocktail of some sort, though maybe the demo man will get that.

Being on fire sucks hardcore. Now imagine you're tooling around, doing whatever it is you're doing, and then suddenly you're on fire. You think "oh shit pyro nearby" and look around in a panic, hoping you have time to kill him before he finishes roasting you.

But he's actually way the fuck over there and there's nothing you can do about it. You're on fire, he's gone to burn somebody else, and you're forced to seek a way to extinguish yourself instead of performing your usual job.

A properly used flaregun is going to be a great panic/distraction weapon. Just imagine a push on the very final point of Dustbowl; I don't know the rate of fire of the gun but I can certainly see a couple defending pyros setting a good portion the offense on fire while they cross the bridge. With the medics busy with ubers, you can bet there's going to be people scrambling for the nearby health items instead of rushing the capture point.

Russian otaku make a thing.

Might be worth checking out.  It'd be refreshing to see a game from people who haven't been as inundated with mutated Japan-o-bullshit and probably still think that bright colors and Lum are pretty fantastic.

Lum IS pretty fantastic!

Regarding the game though, I found out about it back when it was called Oniblade and, while I appreciate anything where a half naked girl runs around cutting the shit out of everyone in sight, the gameplay looked a bit too... well, you know. Generic 3D God of War ripoff beat-em-up, not that interesting. I'd love it if this turned out to actually be good though!

Finally, a product even SEGA could market.

I wonder how much trouble I'd get in if I said she has a pretty nice ass.
