Imagine Skyrim without fast travel or even mounts.

The best part is the normal movement animation is kind of a crouch/stalk, like the game is actively trying to get you wherever you want to go as slowly as possible.

I don't even... I never had a problem with things being too far away and I beat the game twice.

Dragon's dogma does have fast travel, though! It's just unfortunate that you need to finish the game to be able to use it effectively.

But the only place you arguably need it for, is the very place you get a pylon.  anywhere else, and you're just being lazy.  Which is not to say that I did not make judicious use of them in Dark Arisen.

Not to use it as an excuse for DD vanilla, but the DLC added in the ability to leave a much larger number of marker stones, charges way less for the teleports, and basically just gives you unlimited restriction-free movement if you have a new game +.

Still haven't heard if they removed the bug that causes your character to get raped at the half-way mark if you play the game as any normal person would.

Er, sorry. I guess they just drastically reduce the price, and give vendors with unlimited supply. I was misinformed.

The larger amount wasn't in the DLC, Just once you finish the game, I don't have the DLC and I put down like a dozen of the things. Makes the escort quests possible!

I was actually referring to the

Having never played it, I imagine he's referring to a sudden spike in difficulty.

http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Beloved Actually... that doesn't cover the problem as well as it could, just allude to it.

Basically, there was a very involved romance system in which assisting, giving gifts to, and just talking to someone could make any NPC in the game your romantic partner. None of this, however, is mentioned in the game, or even very well documented at all. To top it all off there was a bug that made it so talking to someone was the only thing that impacted the affection ratings characters had for you.

This meant that a lot of people would be rewarded for
having killed what appeared to be the end boss of the game
with a mandatory sex scene with the innkeeper, a traveling merchant, or even this dude:

Oh, right, that.  Haha, I only ever ended up with Madeline on account of finishing up her questline right before the tipping point of the romance "minigame".  Man, even in Dark Arisen that shit is hard to game.  Tried to hook up with the notFrench soldier, but got stuck with the princess because fuck if I know.

I just love that this is just a thing that happens. Much more realistic than romance in most other games.

Dude beatbandit, what are you talking about, that was the best part of DD's romance system, I freaking loved every second of it.

There is a similar romance system in Radiata Stories, but Jack's only allowed to be straight (and fantastically dumb).

I think the princess/Duchess thing is because the system tilts that way.(What with her having an unique carry animation.)

Miss Airhead can just go back home to wait for the net political marriage as far as I am concerned. My kneecaps still hurt when it rains.

Also, YouTube caving to copyright requests used for a bullshit request that has nothing to do with copyright, but there's nothing new about that.

So... Japanese developers seem to be sticking microtransactions into full retail games, now. The first I heard about this was JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle, and now Bravely Default: For The Sequel will feature them.

This trend is not going to end well.

For anyone.

Ace Combat Infinity is doing the exact same thing too. You have a finite amount of fuel that you spend each time you play, and you have to wait for it to come back or pay for more. Also you can only have enough fuel for 3 matches just by idling; pay more for even more!
