I'm hearing reports that MJ died a few hours ago.

Apparently he's just in the hospital. Big whup.

There's no official confirmation, but the rumor is he died yesterday.

Michael's death confirmed by MSNBC.

Guess he got enough.

Let's all play Moonwalker in remembrance.

...wait, no, that game was terrible.  Except for the super powered robot that Michael could transform in to.  That was cool.

The true tragedy here is that nobody has yet reported that he screamed "ERROR!  ERROR!" and started smoking before he bought it.

So not only did Micheal Jackson really die, he was really Michael Jackson all along.   :sadpanda:

As surreal as Michael Jackson has always been, his death is even more surreal.

I just wish the radio would shuttup about it.  10 years of people mocking and eviscerating him, calling him a pedophile.  Now he's dead and it turns into a tragic mourning of a beloved icon.  Not willing to play anything released after 1991 but still a tragic moment.

His whole life became something of a freaky, bizarro tragedy. I mean, if you look at the guy when he was about 18, he looked pretty damned handsome. He just made it hard to sympathise. I think it hinges on whether or not one thinks he did in fact become a child-diddler or not.

I suspect now that he's dead, some people may be able to speak with some objectivity concerning what happened to him, whereas the chances of anyone doing that were basically nil while he was alive.

I wonder if his family is saddened, relieved, or both.

Michael Jackson's passing away reminds me of my own mortality.

So young, so famous, such an easy target for ridicule and now it's gone.

At least he won't touch more kids.

You know, one might be tempted to divorce one's view of an artist and of his art. This can make it easier to enjoy the art even if you don't appreciate the artist himself. Even then, learning that an artist is a strange or disagreeable person often causes one to think less of the art as a result.

With Michael Jackson, it's entirely the opposite. Knowing the art somehow makes people think more highly of the man. Given the circumstances of his life, this is an incredible accomplishment.

I still don't think he did anything worthy of criticism, other than go a little batshit insane. Considering the circumstances behind the molestation accusations, I really don't think they were anything more than an attempt to milk money out of a man trying to live out his stolen childhood vicariously through other children.

If law was based purely on justice without it's own subset of rules determining what we can and cannot act on, Joe Jackson would be rotting away in a jail cell for what he did to his kids.

Michael Jackson is Dead

Since this has happened, I have not seen any news about the brutal post-election violence in Iran, the intense bombings in Baghdad or the Taliban's resurgence in Afghanistan.

Thank you Michael Jackson, for finally bringing peace to the Mideast.

Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Billy Mays.

It's all Vince Offer's fault.
