Happy Current Holiday!
« on: July 04, 2009, 02:22:02 PM »

It's the 4th of July. I'll be celebrating with my family. We're going to some rich lady's house where bombs aren't illegal to blast the shit out of any passing night birds.

What are YOU doing to celebrate the United States' independance day?

My sister came down from Kansas City and we went sailing on Dad's old sailboat with my parents on Cheney Reservoir. It was a great day for sailing, but I got pretty burnt.

After Julie gets off work in a bit, we're going to a party! Other people will set off fireworks, and we'll eat food and watch!

Working as well! I did see some fireworks on the way home, but overall it was too rainy for them. Next weekend, maybe.

I'm currently living in Canada, so the fourth was rather uneventful.  I spent Canada Day watching the Trailer Park Boys marathon on Showcase.

This is actually the first time I've mentioned it, but a little town about a half-hour north of Nanaimo, BC.  Basically, I've moved from the brown fortress to world 14 on the SMB3 map, and way too far away to consider your Toronto get-together.

So the other day I heard a bunch of yelling and gunshots outside my house. At the time, I thought the revolution had begun. In retrospect, I imagine it was probably July 4th.

MONTREAL DOES NOT CELEBRATE JULY 4TH :thatway:

EDIT: You already got TWO holidays within the preceding week!

EDIT2: Though come to think of it, les Québecois can be curiously pro-American sometimes.

I'm home for the summer, yo. But not right now. Right now I'm in the Frozen North of BC. My hometown is ten minutes from the border and full of people who listen to country.

What did I do to celebrate September 11? I proposed to Julie during a game of Balderdash with my family. I guess this means I'm engaged now. Huh.

Congrats!

I celebrated 9/11 by almost buying a pint of Americone Dream, but settled on Cake Batter instead.

I started to draw a crying eagle on my inventory sheet at work but then my artistry ended up not being such and so I scratched it out.

Forget All-Martyr's (except for those filthy A-rab civilians) Day, Halloween is almost here!

...at least, it feels pretty close since I plan to make some kind of mask/helmet, but haven't started designing yet :ohshi~:

I wanted to go as Snoipah this year, but it looks like my lack of a job will preclude me from "DRESS UP AS SOMETHING" Day.
