Home Decorating
« on: July 06, 2009, 08:37:36 AM »

So yesterday I got a big old need for change stuck in my system and I lugged my vertical-standing computer desk set-up out of my bedroom and into the living room. It's a literal movement of maybe 12 feet, but it seems to have done the trick on my mind. More sunlight, more open air room, not sitting directly in my room all day. It feels a bit better. The upgrade from zero desk space(my lap, the floor, balancing shit on the monitor) to three tables worth is also much appreciated. It also puts me in the same room next to my TV set-up and hopefully this will lead me back into messing with console games.

In Feng Shui, interior-to-exterior doors never face north because that's the direction the Mongols invade from.

I have nothing else to add to this thread. I'm interior decorating retarded.

a while back I got a bed with a bookshelf built into the headboard and it is literally the best thing ever. There is even a little outlet for reading lamp and phone charging.

I used to rearrange my room literally every week back when I lived my own damn life.

For varying reasons I haven't been able to due that since, like, 2005.  Cue depression.  :roastbeef:

What I'd do to live in a place that wasn't rose-patterned everything... guess I should try and move out sometime.

Like a full-on bookshelf or just a couple shelves? Because the first sounds awesome until an earthquake sends your library crashing down in the middle of the night.

It is amazing what access to window sunlight and wide open spaces do for not-being-depressed, let me tell you.
