I'm with the majority of the people here. It was a stupid thing for her to say, but she didn't mean it like that, she simply meant that there is historical precedent for long primary seasons and this is not the aberration some people are making it out to be.
She just chose a dumb, dumb example.
Anyway, that's what
RFK Jr thinks.
(On the other hand, there's obviously some disagreement in the Kennedy family on who's the better candidate, with RFK's side backing Clinton and Teddy's side backing Obama. And I believe I pointed out waaaaay earlier in the thread that there's some speculation that Teddy chose to back Obama partially because of Clinton's remarks on how it took Johnson to pass the Civil Rights Act -- in other words, it only got passed because JFK was assassinated. Strictly speaking, I actually happen to think she's right; JFK almost certainly would have passed
a Civil Rights Act, but not one as strong as LBJ's version. But I'd still probably be offended by her calling attention to it if he were my brother.)
