Also it only gets hard if you go for a physical main character.. I went magic and never regretted it. Holy dance with 40 magic is sweet.

What makes it so good is that the endgame has lots of enemies who just shrug off physical attacks. Beyond which, the MAG stat also affects magic defense, making it offense and defense at the same time. Holy Dance is amazing, but I think one of the elemental dances with element boosting passive skills shoots your offensive capabilities through the roof.

It's how I finally smashed [spoiler]Belial[/spoiler].

Also I already chose the "good" path. :nyoro~n: Naoya did not seem to have my best interests at heart at all. I was all set to roll with him, and then he tried to tempt me with things like food and women. And then he said that women would be the death of me. He can suck my toes that jam-guzzling whore.

Don't forget the chance to kill [spoiler]GOD[/spoiler]. So many moral choices.. Your right about the dance + rise and jump skills however I put more survivability choices on mine and mana surge which really helps out. Anti-most and null physical to be exact. Holy Dance, Megido, and Drain. NO ONE IS SAFE FROM MAGIC MAIN.

The only problem with Anti-most is that I'm always afraid of getting fucked by a mystic spell. I think I'd skip null physical in favor of Null-Mystic, and just give him a demon lackey with one of the Bodygaurd-Soul type skills.

After looking at my game I already had null phys and null mystic with mana surge. I forgot how long ago I made the changes to my skills. Magic Yang is pure greatness though. I'm curious which good path you went on though.

Why do you need pierce when you have MEGIDO!!!!

I actually have been making my MC "well rounded". What a chump I was.

He's kind of focused on AGI of all things because I hated how my party never seemed to go first in battle. And now I'm realizing that if I wanted to give him an insane AGI, I should have kept his MAG at 4 and just had him use spells that don't rely on that trait.

Though, if I did that he would probably be bum fucked by basically all of the bosses and their top-level offensive magics.

Also, why is the only human that's actually built for being a physical attacking badass coming onto the scene when all of the demons seem to be strong to physical attacks!?

There seems to be a few good endings depending on your ideas of good. Yuzu, Gin, Amane if you consider her good.. Atsuro even. The only evil path seems to be naooya.. D:

Too bad they all have minimum magic requirements, so you can't have a low-magic guy with mediarahan and amrita and judgement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Already on Midori, unfortunately. My MC ended up as a high magic/vitality guy with no really clear good points, somehow.

Not good enough at magic or fast enough to be a nuker, not strong enough to be a good candidate for my team's single Pierce skill. Has a bunch of unresistable crap and Anti-Most and Drain Hit. PRETTY AVERAGE

It's like Gin. What the fuck is he good for?

I love having a Deity's Awakening power, stacking it with blitzkrieg and a few magic uppers and a "meager" 20 MAG makes my main character's offensive capabilities insane. He's routinely wiping out mook demons up to five levels above him in one turn. Dual Shadow has pushed him over the edge in terms of damage dealing and his MP is kept high by having a tyrant on hand, or getting a Divine minion to use its blood wine skill.


I feel a lot better now because I've finally gotten past that awkward stage where there were no hard free battles to build up XP and there was an annoying lack of really potent fusable demons in my level range. Now that I've unlocked the next tier of free battles I have a few skills to crack while I level up, and hopefully I'll have enough Macca to buy enough fusion materials for some really worthwhile minions.

I also have all four of the mitama type demons, and I'm not sure why, because I didn't actually give them very good support skills.

I went with the Gin/Haru ending [spoiler]because fuck God and the Angels and fuck all the demons too[/spoiler].  It seems like Atsubro and Gin/Haru were the only ones who really wanted to get anything done while Yuzu just whined a lot (but managed to avoid being an obnoxious twat like Yukari in P3).

My MC was my obligatory healing party and secondary magic offensive party since I've pretty much been rolling with that in every MegaTen game since Nocturne.  I grinded the fuck out of the game to make sure almost all my demons could learn Anti-All then loading them with Drain or Repel abilities because I'm generally like a fucking Murmur a defensive player.

So, day three. Keisuke's on my team, and we find Midori doing some stupid shit with her gameboy. I struggle through the battle, as always, when Magic Emperor Ghalleon or whoever the FUCK comes out of left field, and we all have to escape.

Fine, whatever. Everyone but slow-ass Yuzu escapes, after I freak out a little. Lo and behold, the turn before she gets to move, some fucking anthropomorphic cat comes and kills her with lightning and stone and what the FUCK. She was at full health, too!


Piss.
