HAHA! You know... some days you guys just kill me. I worry and worry and then some Asperger's nitwit goes and tries to psychonalyse me. Gas!

Pacobird, you can take your arrogant bullshit rambles and go fuck yourself with a combine harvester. That's about all the effort your particular brand of stupid has merited today.

That's a little harsh.  I do not doubt Paco's ability to socialize, I just do not agree with his particular suggestion of how to do so and didn't much appreciate his attempt to impress it upon me personally.

Okay, going away again now!  Vaminos!

That's a little harsh.

No, it's okay, I'm pretty content with my reply.

I'm not going to sit here and bandy words with a terminal retard who's decided he's better than me.

...oh right.

Man, today's just a huge circus of my faults both real and imagined.  Like one of the real ones being that I'm so self-centered sometimes most of the time sometimes that I forget that people are being douchebags to guys other than myself.  Sorry about that.

Paco's just opinionated. You could make it less personal though, dude.

How can you not know how to play Kickball?  The rules are right there in the name.  There is a ball, you kick it.

Why kickball when there's dodgeball, is the only thing on my mind.

I tried to hit f5 to refresh my newspaper once.

I'm not the only person I know who's tried to put their browser on auto-run with num lock because of World of Warcraft.

Guys, every activity is for suckers. Boy do I wish I could do things with people who, like me, don't do things.

This is why I like university. I have to drag my sorry carcass to a place and do stuff that forces me to interact with people in a meaningful way. I'm sure I could get by in the workforce through nods, grunts and shrugs.

I'm going to take it a step further this year and actually join some clubs and stuff!

Well, reading this thread makes me feel better knowing that I'm not the only shut in here.

It also makes me consider explaining my pathetic situation.  But I won't.  Because it's no fun reading other people's complaints about life.  It does pass the time however, which is why this thread keeps going.

Quote
I would live a much more peaceful, happy, and productive life without constant internet blatherwick, but I'm just so starved for human interaction and discussion that this is all I have left (if my wife and I didnt see each other for half of every day, most of the time we would qualify as complete hermits with little to no social interaction other than the internet).

People trying to be nice and avoid your problems has clearly not worked for you.  If you had suggested for one moment you were satisfied with your life, we would not be having this discussion.  This isn't about whether or not I'm better than you.  I don't know you.  I can't judge.  But when someone suggests something like WFE is "all they have left", they need help.

And Brent, forgive me for saying so, but I find it hard to believe you were some dashing and debonair man about town before your finances fell apart.  There is little, if anything at all, I've seen you say or think that you wouldn't have said or thought 8 years ago.

(also, there are people in this thread who get it.)

Patito, of course I play WoW because I enjoy it.  But I am also happy with my life.  If I were unhappy with my life and I could not honestly say WoW was improving things, I would be on the lookout for a new hobby.  I'll expain further.  Some may remember this post.

Do you know who that wiser-than-me individual was?  An old woman I met in an Oprah's Book Club study group I found on meetup and attended one day because I was bored.  We were discussing the Time Traveller's Wife, and this woman, who had been married 45 years and was still in love with her husband, dropped this science on us which added more perspective and insight to my life than years' worth of posts of WFE whose personalities I already know and experiences I've shared.  It is only through new experiences and change that people are capable of growing as human beings and it's only through growth that we're able to become happy.  That is why they want you to read Catcher in the Rye in 10th Grade.

I guess you found it convenient to avoid reading the word 'most' and instead emphasize the bit that caught your eye.

But really, that post is more than a bit disingenuous. All you did yesterday is quotehack me in the the most insulting way could find. Now you temper that with excuses? I could be telling God's honest truth or I could have been balls-out lying and it simply would not have mattered - you chose to respond in a way that satisfied you and not anyone else.

Maybe you told yourself you were doing good by "putting the hard word" on some idiot on the internet who refuses to face the truth. If so, God help any children you might ever have, because I would certainly never trust a man who could rationalize abuse like that with the rearing of the next generation.

Does any of that mean I'm not insufferably annoying? Not at all. In fact, I probably am. I spend most days having everything I say or do taken the wrong way by just about everybody at times, so I spend large portions of my life explaining what I did or said - which then sounds like a pile of excuses. Or I can say nothing and simply be thought of a complete asshole. Doesn't make for a great social dynamic. But you know what? No matter what I say, I don't typically find myself having to explain any self-centered and vitriol-filled reams of insults.

You posted a literal cry for help on an internet forum and you expect me to read it lightly?

Your professed reasons wanting to talk to people have absolutely nothing to do with any value you may see in others, but rather you only value such interaction insofar as it makes you feel good about yourself.  If you want me to stop responding disingenuously then stop posting like a spoiled child.

You are 30 years old.

Though if you want me to treat you like an 8 year old, by all means tell me so and I'll go back to not taking your problems seriously.

Perhaps if you got out more, this would not be such a problem!
