Speaking of unlockables, what exactly entails getting a star for a given cup?

Because I'm pretty sure that Blue Shells, Lightning Bolts, and other such abused annoyances from the CCRs makes, say, coming in first every time partly a matter of chance.

Dumb question: does the driver you pick have any bearing on gameplay beyond weight class, or does your kart/bike define all your stats?

Your times are more important than your placement, I believe.

My gut reaction is that Bowser is better at bumping people out of his way than any other racer, but this is probably just fond recollection on my part.

Unlockables on time trials are even worse.

I've got 9/32 fast staff ghosts (which means I already got baby luigi and funky kong, but not the karts/bikes associated with getting all the ghosts) :T

And I'll never get all 1-star's on 150cc wii grand pris, which also means I prolly won't be able to beat special cup on 150cc, which means no Daisy and no Dry Bowser (I have everybody else already) :(

I suck at rainbow road and I suck at Wario's goldmine because it makes me incredibly motion sick and I don't like ...um...some other courses prolly.  I do, however, very much enjoy the Koopa Cove or whatever it's called, and I like the maple tree course.

Oh, yeah, Maple Treeway has awesome music.  In fact, many courses have great music, but Treeway has the best.  Is it from something that I'm unaware of?

Before Mario Kart Wii was released, I could Brawl against Doom whenever I wanted with no problems seeing each other and no mid-battle disconnect errors!

After Mario Kart Wii was released, however...

I don't generally care about other people's opinions unless I have any respect for them.  Parish is someone I actually know.

First of all, the Wii Wheel (much like the Wii Zapper) is just a piece of plastic, and it (unlike the Wii Zapper) doesn’t enhance my ability to play the game whatsoever.

This person must be some kind of mutant, as every single person I know who's used the Zapper has said it's incredibly uncomfortable to use.

And yet, a lot of people are saying the Wii Wheel is a blast.

So you're saying MKWii is so bad it's actually throwing its suck onto people who haven't played Mario Kart since the SNES era?  Yaaaaaaaaay!

Well.  I don't think that Dry Bowser is as unattainable as I thought last week--I got daisy last night so now it's just down to him.  I not only won on special cup 150cc to get daisy, I got the star rating with only a 54.  I can so get dry bowser on tuesday.
