I've only played on Hard so far, and the only thing I regret is being unable to specifically target a point for a character to move to. There might be a bunch of archers and infantry up a hill, and I have my little foursome at the bottom of the hill with traps and stuff, but the moment I move somebody up to get their attention, everybody else charges. I might want to move them all back, but any time spent moving a single character coincides with time the other three aren't doing what you want. That's my ONLY problem with the game.

Hit H? Right-Click the ground? I'm not sure what you are saying. I use (H)old all the time to have my mage snipe a dude with his staff and then run back to the gang.

If anything I wish melee characters had a little bit of lee-way when holding their ground. They won't take a single step to close to a guy.

There's no H key on this Xbox controller, I'm afraid.

On the other hand, I guarantee my TV's bigger than your monitor.

An oft-overlooked feature of the Tactics screen is the behavior drop-down in the top-right corner. Setting dudes to "passive" will fix a lot of the irritation with holdspam if you're a compulsive pauser.

If the interface is at all similar to the PS3's, hold RT and open the Advanced menu and the Hold Position toggle should be right there.

Everyone playing on console is doing it wrong. I'm not being elitist here, its just the best version, period.

I don't care how good the PC version is--when it's on my PC, it's the worst version. If you want to buy me a new videocard, motherboard, and monitor, be my guest. But in the mean time, the correct answer is to play on a console.

Having spent all my time playing the 360 version to death before I even thought about :yarr:-ing the PC version to see if there was any real difference*, I honestly prefer controlling the game via analog stick/buttons rather than keyboard/mouse.

You might want to look at the L4D thread where I was trying out those add-on campaigns that Zed linked.  :nyoro~n:

But clearly, I am a fool for looking at a game in terms of what it offers on its own rather than what could be added!  Woe~

"Ahh, user-generated content isn't even that good, and it certainly never could be, and I'll never look to begin with! Also I tried user-generated content once and I thought it was pretty good, so.. here's some more ammo for your argument, Doom!"

I'm with Alex on that a game should stand on it's own in terms of content. But if more and better stuff can be added to an already good game, then why the hell not try it?

Imagine Dragon Age is a golden toilet. Now put some chocolate frosting on it. Delicious.

Well yes, that's why Bethesda has never made a good game.

I would contend that Fallout 3 was good out of the box. Granted, it is an incredible anomaly, possibly an unintended aberration in their regular mediocre process.

Fallout possessed enough light side energy that even Bethesda could not wring all of it out, and was not as good as Fallout 1 or 2, and most of the DLC has been unrelentingly bad. I supposed it does deserve special mention as the first game Bethesda has released that you can enjoy without three times the game's weight in mods, or serious developmental problems, if i am to be totally fair.

And even so the animations still look like dogshit.

* Norondor has gained Bad Karma. (with Bethesda)

Although I do agree that Fallout 3's animations (and models and environments) were incredibly bad.

models and environments

What the fuck else did you play that beat Fallout 3's environment and where can I get a copy of this fictional game? Or were you just going for a record number of bad posts in this thread?
