What the fuck else did you play that beat Fallout 3's environment and where can I get a copy of this fictional game? Or were you just going for a record number of bad posts in this thread?

I can gladly confess that I found Star Ocean 3's models and environments to be better than Fallout 3's if you're looking for something else to be a prick about.

As soon as I post to seek your clearly superior approval, I'll let you know though.

A game can have aspects of it that are beautiful and still be horrific in the story/gameplay department (see: several nes/snes games)

Yeah, SO3 DID have pretty environments, even though it delivered in spades on the series' premise of being SciFi RPGs with consistently 0 playtime outisde of a generic pre-industrial hinterland.

Come to think of it, SO3 had TWO generic pre-industrial hinterlands.

Anyway as fun as it is to kick you in the head, I'll drop it now so long as you don't try some stupid-ass "hurr hurr last word" posting later.
Who the fuck knew that Arcane Warrior was linked to poking a clicky in a dungeon
Between that and random b-b-b-books sometimes I feel a bit stilted trying to find my proper advancement options. Hell, I had to look up the above on a hunch and I'm still missing Blood Mage, yet I naively feel that the game will introduce a new PC or something to cover it and oh my God what if I spoiler myself?

Here's a hint for Blood Mage.

Redcliffe.

And it's not the obvious answer.

Ahh, figures. I've actually done everything but Redcliffe. Thanks. I was afraid it'd be another "you didn't click on a background object in the Deep Roads" thing!

Though, uh, i am pretty sure you still can't get Blood Mage unless you are, yourself, a mage.
If you're not a mage, you send one of your mage companions or Jowan in there. I haven't tried, but they might be able to do it in your stead
Fallout possessed enough light side energy that even Bethesda could not wring all of it out, and was not as good as Fallout 1 or 2, and most of the DLC has been unrelentingly bad. I supposed it does deserve special mention as the first game Bethesda has released that you can enjoy without three times the game's weight in mods, or serious developmental problems, if i am to be totally fair.

Fallout 3 was better than Fallout 1, sry.

Also Daggerfall and Morrowind were good out of the box, provided you had a computer that could run them. The only non graphics related mod I can think of that was particularly essential for Morrowind was no more cliff racers for obvious reasons.

I think Oblivion was such a fucking terrible dissapointment out of the box that it's colored people's perceptions a little. Either that or Norondor does not like fantasy sandbox adventure?

I meant to say this the other day but then I forgot.

I used to be kind of irritated when Sten and Morrigan would give me grief over doing not-even-out-of-the-way plot-related tasks.
But then it turns out Sten's totally right and you don't need an army to take on the Archdemon anyway because all his mooks for the entire level have like 5 health even on Hard and fall over in a single Scattershot.
