Branhka actually mellows out perfectly and pledges Golems to you. But the fight against K-Golem is retardedly hard.
You know, I played it both ways because I was curious about the outcomes, and I had the exact opposite opinion, Doom. For whatever reason it was the fight with Branka that tore my shit out through my mouth, and destroying K-Golem was piss easy.

Maybe it's because my arcane warrior was buffing sten, zevran, and ogrhen with TK weapons, but that doesn't really explain how damned easy the fight was.

I decided to go with saving K-Golem and killing Branka because
I hate it when my efforts don't end in tragedy for everyone involved
.

Also, to everyone who didn't guess that shale was
just a girl
wasn't paying attention when shale started talking about how pretty crystals and gems were. Finally, I'm glad someone else came out and said that shale was basically HK-47. I was afraid I was going nuts.

That explains that. Those of us who take damage start in the middle of five golems, two of which are yellow and one of which is orange.

Another reasonable explanation: obligatory queen.

What made the fight particulary hard.(Along with the spinning face fight.) Was that I had no clue that I could use the Lyrium veins in combat. So Branhka/K-Golem got full heals and knocked my ass down.

So how does this thing deal with keeping multiple romances going at the same time?

Zevran does not care, Leilana fucking hates it, it bothers Morrigan a little. I don't know about Alistair.

Ali is a big ol' romantic girl, I love him for it, but it means he cares a lot too.

Yeah, Alistair and Leliana both made me choose between them and what the hell you're a crazy french sex spy and you're a virgin fresh out of seminary, why is "both" not an acceptable answer?

Little-known fact: as a crude method of birth control, Dalish elves drink a pint of spoiled milk before copulation.
I slit a child's throat and Morrigan finally got in the sack with me. Then you know, I violated the most sacred relic in the world and I'm not talking about that swamp witch's snatch.
Kicking ass through the pre-Landsmeet now.

I've gotta say that if you've ever wanted to play a game and have a viable set of evil choices that aren't ham-fisted, this game delivers on damn near all counts. It is really the best written choose-your-own-alignment yet!
It wasn't enough that I put Bhelen on the throne, seized the Void of Anvils, butchered the Dalish to get Werewolf bros and violated the Urn. I sent Alistair, Bro of the Year(3 years running) to his execution because I wanted to hang out with Loghain. Then something something child of an old god.
Time for a Super-Completionist Good Play-through!
It's pretty awesome that the game actually has a ton of opportunities to bend or flex depending on your origin, but you have to actually sit down and beat most of them to realize it!
I plan on doing the reload trick for Reaver since my ice-queen City Elf won't have the needed scores for talking Leliana down. Branka will still get the axe since that kind of crazy needs to be taken out behind the woodshed.
how the fuck did they include the "all your stuff is taken away forever" retardation in two separate dwarf intros. think I will just sell my blood dragon plate and hope they let me keep the 2g50s
Rogue seems to be fundamentally useless as a Main Character once you get past the shiny grandeur of stealth and getting 1.5x loot. I was mucking about as backstab spec and swapped to Sten and Alistair to dick around. Notice they non-critical melee for as hard as my backstabs hit. :;_;:

Guess I will try a McMage-LeiArcher-MorriMage-TankBoulderShale(alternatively, Alistair or a High-Con-Dog) party and some variant of Dual-Wield Warrior to tackle Nightmare Mode. Somehow, God Willing.

I'm not sure if using Shale is fair, even for Nightmare. By far the best tank.

Did you patch to 1.02? because otherwise, backstabs are broken.

Yeah I did but still nothing to write home about. Unless you could offer some comparisons or I goofed somehow? Steam did it automagically.

Shale is actually a worse tank in higher difficulties because he can't come close to matching the mitigation of the better heavy armor sets and mit becomes more important the more healing is reduced.

DW rogue's big bonus used to be just stacking Runes and attacking at a million attacks per second with whatever that later passive is and nothing else.  Did way more damage than any warrior could hope to but was boring as shit.  Not sure what they altered in the patch.
