I think I blame you in the videos, then realized it was Doom afterwards.

Probably.  I did say it was a good game - which it is, god damn it, but you didn't seriously think you were going to get through a Treasure-made Castlevania game in one go without savestating the fuck out of it, did you?

WHERE ARE THE POT ROASTS DRACULA

YOU SAID THERE WOULD BE POT ROASTS

I actually found it really cute that level 1 is the ruins of Castlevania and that is the only level that has pot roasts in it.

also, goddamn treasure made a lot of games unofficially

Anyway, next LP is going to be a PS2 game, since I figured out my capture card at last. It's super duper.

So you're playing Bloodlines and not using Lecarde?

Do you want me to come to Australia and give you a spanking slap you around? Because you could just ask, you know.

Frocto, I'm going to go ahead and reccomend that you only lp video games you already know and love.

Also, stop forcing yourself through games in one sitting. Basically it's not fun to watch you play if you're not having fun.

Heh. Seeing this made me want to replay the game for the first time in forever, just to see if I liked it just on account of nostalgia. But I still like it. It's got some real good music too, as you've noticed. Iron Blue Intention (the munitions factory) was reprised in Portrait of Ruin IIRC, and Sinking Old Sanctuary (Atlantis) was reprised in Legacy of Darkness.

There are pot roasts, you just haven't found 'em. Also, on normal difficulty, one of Death's three attack cards is replaced by one that gives you like a dozen roasts (which is kind of a "fuck you" actually).

Lecarde is best because he can attack straight up and diagonally, his crouching thrust is really fast, his high jump causes damage and allows you to bypass some sections (especially some annoying bits in Germany), and he has a semi-useful spear twirl move, kind of like the spearmen enemies in other CVs.

Morris is actually... ugh... the son of Quincey Morris, the guy who stabs Dracula in Bram Stoker's novel, who himself is related to the Belmonts. It's pretty much a clumsy attempt to reconcile the series with the bookl, which is even lamer now that Iga changed Dracula's origins.

I was reading up on it. Apparently the Sinking Old Sanctuary was used in a few games. And the dude in POR is his SON.

And Buge, I address why I'm using John in the videos, but it basically boils to: He's a Belmont. Belmonts are cool. I am sick of broken-ass non-Belmonts.

To put it in perspective, I beat Rondo with Richter first, even though I had Maria available.

This game would have aggravated me no matter how slow I played it. That's the whole point of why Doom put it on the list.

Clearly the series is better off, as now the Belmonts must battle the nefarious Matt Dracula, who has a supernatural weakness to girlfriends.

I'm pretty sure Doom put it on the list because he thought you'd like it. I mean it's a good game, but watching you play it was painful. You almost never used the item crashes and you'd stubbornly refuse to learn boss patterns. Like the first video you're going along and talking about how cool the game is, but as soon as you died the first time it seemed like you switched directly into hate mode.

I will admit that I honestly started to suspect that Frocto was just trying to goad me into making a Belmont Death Montage.

Which would have been extra hilarious if it featured Lecarde's ridiculously undignified death animation instead.

See, that's the thing that I don't understand. Bloodlines is one of the easier treasure games and one of the easier castlevania games. I mean maybe I'm biased because I would go through the trouble of farming stones to use item crushes, usually used Lecarde, and didn't try to beat the game in one sitting without learning the boss patterns, but if I can beat a video game then it isn't hard.

Death being a boss rush and the gears boss are kind of bullshit though.
