Actually, the stuff he puts out now really is flat-out unreadable.

You mean you've actually attempted to read Wild Wet West?

That would be an embarrassing confession if I ever heard one.

Yeah, I thought that the new stuff was purposely just porn for the sake of porn and plot was an afterthought at best if it existed at all, like all porn plot.

BACK TO THE THREAD TOPIC:
Not only do I read kodomo no jikan, but I enjoy reading it.

But to clarify, I don't read it for the loli-porn, if I wanted to readlook at loli-porn, I could go anywhere else on the internet.  And I don't like 'em that young, teen maybe, but not pre-to-early-pubescent.

At least half the time I am actually hamming up my TF2 persona. Sorry McDohl and Mr Saturn.
x infinity

EDIT: I know this, and I'd say 80% of the time, I'm hamming up my reactions to said persona.

Either our TF2 characters should become a vaudeville routine or we should get together and fight monsters in the magical world inside my TV.

On that subject, getting mad at TF2 is more like a hobby for me.

You sound pretty defensive there.

Have you read the series?  Clarification is important.

Do you understand how terrifying the words “vibrating strap on” are for an asexual? That’s like saying “the holocaust” to a Jew.

kojika is a train-wreck in perpetual motion that makes you want to look away but for some reason you can't. and then at the end of the train-wreck there's an x-ray shot of a tampon being inserted into a loli by a third party and you know that nothing's ever really going to be alright.

Eventually, you realize that it's not a series about the creepy precocious 8 year old who wants to get down with her teacher, it's a series about the bizarre elementary school teacher who doesn't want to bang his students.

And on that day, you are truly enlightened.

I absolutely adored it. He created a living, breathing police station where every single character got their own sub-plot that was eventually tightly and snappily resolved.

Complete agreement.

I love all the little separate plotlines that come together. Plus Urishi-Maru (and his gun moll) are a GAS.

Actually, the stuff he puts out now really is flat-out unreadable.

I don't even know what this is.

Nor am I going to google it.

If Shirow wrote something in the last twenty years and it's called 'wild wet west', I just don't want to know.

Wild Wet West and Intron Depot in general are his most beautiful artwork.

Oddly enough, while I don't dislike his art, I really do read him for the articles plot.

So, this has turned into Embarassing Book/Comic Confessions? Can I play??

...for some reason, I'm fascinated by Transmetropolitan, yet I wasn't too wild for Sin City.

Seconding that. Something tells me that knowledge = :ohgod:

That may be because Warren Ellis is bombastic but spectacular, and Frank Miller is overrated even for dogshit.

I really like Batman: Year One, but everything else by him that I've ever read has been seriously "meh" at best.

While I do enjoy the Sin City books, this statement is mostly true.

Okay, so, an embarassing confession.

In my old room at my parent's place, there is a copy of Clan of the Cave Bear where all the pages with sex scenes have had their corners folded to make it easier for teenage Frocto to find them.

If using that stuff as fap fodder isn't embarassing, I don't know what is

I don't know if that's more or less embarrassing, but my first "fap fodder" was in the dictionary. It's not that I was turned on by the naughty words, I'm not that deranged. The old Larousse we had was peppered with full color reproductions of classic art, lots and lots of it.

My young man's heart was not awakened by Hefner and Flynt, it was awakened by Nattier and Titian.

In hindsight, it might be pretty obvious why I'm into plump women with fair skin.

Also the more I think about it, it may not be all that embarrassing after all. Hmm!
