It's always passworded after the class updates for awhile to prevent people coming in for achievement farming, begging, and well just bad gameplay by tons of pubs all playing the updated class to get their achievements. (My thoughts only, not the actual truth.)

I saw a 2fort server with a class limit of 3 engineers per team. That seems like a workable solution. In practice I imagine it'd mean we have three engineer pubbies each team at all times.

It's odd because I can't access the server's ftp at all, so I can't turn the password off.

There's no password. I still can't do anything else to the server though.

I made sure the maps are still there, and they are. I was worried I got drunk and deleted them or something. Not so. Admins should be able to switch to all the maps no problem, unless your SourceMod shit got seriously fucked.

No, it's just that whenever valve adds a new map it overrides the rtv list. If I could ever access the fucking server ftp.

My understanding was that the server is pw'd on major patches because we are pretty damn quick in making sure the server's updated, which makes us one of like three servers that are current for several hours.

And from that, that -we- want to play on ShMo, not let 50,000 pubbies try and cram in there.

I'm sorry but if the only thing that wins on a map is some bullshit environmental damage, its bad. I mean, maybe that's just a 'people with good taste' thing, but I don't think its too hard to understand.

I guess I just don't have a problem playing on a map that's a little more dangerous than most? And I'm the clumbsiest motherfucker on the server fer christ sakes.

I mean if you want to argue details, the friggin' thing has a built-in warning system.

The problem with lolcano is that it's all red and the static things that kill you are also red, there's a warning for the rising lava but not for the walls that kill you when you touch them.
