So, I finally got a
warrior to 80 a few days ago. I've been gearing up fast, trying to get to the point where I can raid ASAP. I've been burning through random heroics, and ended up getting dumped into my first Halls of reflection run - with the In Progress message.
So I come in, and the DPS announce: "The last tank had to go, we wiped after the first boss." A little worrisome, but I get fired up to get things done, get buffed up, and am sitting at a nice 42k HP. Between my high HP, respectable armor, and pure avoidance of about 45%, I'm figuring that HOR will be easy.
We wipe on wave two after the healer stops healing me - he claims lag, so I keep my mouth shut. We come back, make it three waves in, and the healer stops healing me again. I pop last stand, enraged regeneration, shield block, and hold up without heals for about 20 seconds straight - finally dying when last stand wore off. I had around 55k max HP at that time.
I ask the healer what happened, why I went so long without being healed, and there was two excuses. Excuse 1; Your gear is so terrible (I'm a little undergeared, but I think 42k buffed is more than enough for HOR... Considering I've done it with worse geared tanks) and Excuse 2; The DPS were taking damage, so they needed heals. Maybe you should do your job...
so I go back and look at recount. That pull, I'd marked a priest, mercenary, and mage to be killed, and only devastated on those enemies, relying on Tclap and Shockwave to hold threat on the 2 footmen who were up. It turns out the DPS death knight in the group had spent the entire fight DPSing on one of the footmen, had aggro on the footmen, and got aggro back every time I taunted it off him.
Checking the healing meters, our priest had done an amazing 3k HPS (Considering his gearscore was around 5k, I was unimpressed) of which 60% had been done on the DPS death knight. Who was attacking the wrong mob.
But this was my fault, apparently, because I'm wearing a blue necklace and wasn't holding good threat.
