What annoys me about it is he is deflecting a rather fucking important issue with some stupid joke.

The fact that it is or is not sexist is buried under the fact he is making jokes about the abortion issue.

Hey, dead babies are all fun and games, but when it comes to fucking policy, can you please not joke around, in any capacity, about, you know, murdering fetuses?

Thanks.

Oh, and by the way.

Stay the fuck out of my womb, you old fashioned arrogant shithead.

See, I could make a joke like that because I have absolutely nothing to do with policy of that kind in any way.

George H.W. Bush may simply feel the same way.

That's true, and I get your point, but you'd still be a jerk for making it.

Bush is ten times the jerk for making it because he's a former president.

Well, yeah, but... meh.

I mean it turned into a big deal when he got called out by a guy who was guilty of actual sexual harassment when he was still president.  I'm not exactly saying it was right but is it really that shocking that an ex-president named Bush said something retarded and insensitive?

Erm, but that IN ITSELF is sexist.

Of course, George HW Bush considers sexual harassment a qualification for the Supreme Court.

Iraqi's honor a true Americanhero

With a giant fiberglass mold of a shoe coated in copper.  It's 11 and a half feet tall!  Of course, the reporter who'd thrown the shoe is still in "detention" but there is a lot of pressure to release him.  I mean, even Bush didn't really seem to care all that much about it.

Orphans helped construct a monument to a reporter throwing shoes at the stupid little man who helped ruin their corner of the world.

The only thing that could make it more deliciously poetic is if Bush was a crooked contractor trying to close the orphanage down and at the end of the movie the shoe statue falls on him and it is so wacky.

History will judge him indeed. Has every day since January 20th been our Birthdays+Christmas?

And it's down again.

I think the shoe incident is going to go down in history as an oddity of the times. Future historians will make scholarly observations on the man who threw a shoe at a president, as an irrational and archaic practice of the ancients. Sort of like the time Alexander the Great set a boy on fire just to see if he was invulnerable.

If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a shoe -- forever.

Seems like the issue was more that the shoe monument was on public property.

Well yeah, that's what the Iraqi government is saying.  God knows they're all riding the Straight Talk Express.

Well, even if that isn't the real reason, I agree with the given reason, so in any case it should have been removed from that property. Don't get me wrong, the monument and the incident were both awesome, but it's ridiculous to think you could put something like that on public property.
