Interesting. I'm not sure that I agree with it entirely, but it does make one or two criticisms I've been feeling as I'm playing through the thing. I actually found the exaggerated propaganda of the Wounded Knee bit to be really unsettlingly effective, and at more than just establishing villainy. If I have any complaint it's that those sequences assume the player knows what happened at wounded knee. Which you'd think would be a safe assumption, but... yeah. After looking at most of the responses to the critique here I'm surprised anyone playing this game has enough brainstem to keep their heart and lungs working.

Seriously, the comment section on that article is embarrassing as fuck. What could have been an interesting conversation is just assholes yelling at the author for being "pretentious" and "not getting it." I know that not all videogame fans are squealing, retarded infants, but this shit doesn't help.

Yeah, I haven't played B:I myself, so I can't comment on the game, but the comments on the article remind me of Lewis's Law, which says, "The comments on any article about feminism justify feminism".

So I guess for this it would be, "The comments on any article criticizing gamers justify criticism of gamers".

Bioshock Infinite thoughts:

1) Man they changed a LOT from the early trailers. No wonder the game's so fast-paced.

2) Possession is incredibly powerful, I went through like half the game with it.

3) Elizabeth, you have the godlike power to warp reality. Use it to create cover for me.

4) Lots of Half-Life 2. Elizabeth even gives you a little lecture about the illusion of choice.

5) That ending totally should lead to a multiplayer mode.

Finished and quite enjoyed infinite, was surprised when a Willem Dafoe (Green Goblin) sound alike gave me a revolver



[spoiler]I was half expecting the ending area to leave off on a cliffhanger where Booker and Elizabeth find a lighthouse to Narnia[/spoiler]

She does, when she can, but cover is for the weak.  If you aren't zipping about like Bionic Commando on meth, you're probably doing something wrong.

I love that guy! Mostly because he's unkillable and doesn't react to anything, though he does scream and singe when you set him on fire. I must have spent a half hour punching him with the set-people-on-fire gear and giggling.

Also, I was lucky enough for that to be my first gear drop. Went through most of the game with that and a couple other things that synergized well with it. I think it was the one that sets people on fire when you tap them, the one that multiplies damage afterward, and another one to set everything else around you on fire. Then I got Rush, after which the entire rest of the game was essentially Mass Effect 3. Zipping around while exploding and regenerating shields is just... way too good. Rush, Nova, Rush, Nova, Rush, Nova. "Teleporting Psychic Bomb" is pretty much my go-to tactic these days.

Finished Fink tower. I must say that even though Columbia is full of bigots, the Voxphones still make it clear that they are still people.

[spoiler]Finished up. Excellent game although I believe more focus could have been put on the Fink/Vox war. I know the developers wanted it on Booker/Elizabeth but having two paths that converge on one spot would fit into the themes of the game.[/spoiler]
