As for thad, I also don't know if you're doing any wrist rehabilitation, or any wrist exercises in general, but that is something you might want to look into if it is affecting you in your day to day. Here are some wrist exercises that might help, which I found on this subreddit thread.
They've been okay for the past few years. I stopped doing pushups and found some keyboards and mice that didn't stress my wrists too much. I did wrist exercises for awhile and used to wear a splint at night, but I haven't done either for several years now.
As for the keyboards and mice: I bought 2 MS Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000's (Ergonomic Keybaords 4000? How do you pluralize that?), one for home and one for work. Bit of an upfront cost but they've both lasted me for some 6 years now; even if you don't put a price on the physical comfort I believe they've given me, they've still paid for themselves pretty handily.
(The Back button sticks on one of them. Other than that, they still work just great.)
My primary mouse is an
Evoluent VerticalMouse 3. Pricey but it's lasted pretty well too -- a piece of plastic broke on it once and made one of the buttons stick, but customer service was excellent and I got it replaced with no trouble. And that's my only gripe in about five years of ownership.
(There's a
VerticalMouse 4 now that's priced the same on Amazon; I haven't tried it but it might be worth looking into. They come in left-handed versions too if that's your thing, but I know literally zero people who actually operate a mouse left-handed, even among people who are left-handed.)
I've also had good luck with the
Logitech Trackman Wheel, which for some goddamn reason is selling upwards of $200 now? Jesus Christ. I think I have two of those in a closet somewhere; maybe I should sell one, buy two of
this thing that looks like it's the same damn thing only wireless, and pocket the $10 or so difference between that and what the Trackman's going for used.
I use the
Cordless Optical Trackman with my HTPC and have no complaints, though I don't sit with it for prolonged use like I do with my other mice.
And my most recent job gave me an
M500, which I guess is Logitech's basic corded mouse at this point, more or less. It worked well enough for me that this is the first job I've worked since 2006 where I didn't end up bringing a trackball from home.
I also suspect that switching up the style of mouse I use between home and work probably reduces wrist strain.
Anyway. On-topic:
yesterday I donated a bunch of pants to Goodwill.
