I also had a chance to try archaeology briefly, and as an actual real-life student of archaeology, I was delighted to find that it's about the best possible game implementation of archaeology you could reasonably expect. Right down to the part where you do the same thing for hours and get a minor reward which is thematically delightful but for which you receive a pittance!  :perfect:
Almost word-for-word what I said about it.

The thing about defense of the immortal coil is it works a whole lot better when there are ten billion other people there. It was actually pretty awesome in my experience. Go out, before I can see what's going on in the fighting a naga grabs me and pulls me out of the phase before I can see anyone else get grabbed.

By the time I figured out I had just been a part of a series of scripted events I was riding a turtle. In short; Vash'jir is the best zone.

I feel horrible for winning a chaos orb only to find out they are soulbound.. Not only that the tailors dont need them until they can make the 5 chaos orb into one dreamcloth. It would have been more use to the blacksmith that gets the shield for only 1 chaos orb. Meanwhile enchanting is such a huge money waster but if you happen to get landslide first. Dear god make it. Your going to make a killing off that one enchant alone.

Soulbound drop crafting items?

Wasn't that lesson learned in TBC?

All of the crafting items are soulbound. Dreamcloth takes a week to cool down and the only way to get it off cooldown is 5 chaos orbs.

Anyone know for sure that if I take a profession for a mount (Engineering Helicopter) then drop the profession, if I'll be able to use the mount, as I've already learned it? Obviously you wouldn't be able to learn it. As that has the engineering requirement, but does the spell itself in your mount collection?

If a profession is required to make it then most likely you need to have the profession. Except for the Choppa

You need to be an Engineer to use the Flying Machine and a Tailor to use the Flying Carpet.  Dropping the professions will strip you of your ability to use the mount.  The Mechano-Hog and the Alchemy Dragon can be used by anyone regardless of profession.

If you're a colossal sperg about 100 mounts, you can level tailoring and engineering entirely to learn the mounts for credit towards owning 100 mounts. You just can't use them. :derp:

I found my first rare mob named Sambas. He was a lion. He didn't drop anything but some gold and a gray. However this gray item had such emotion to it. Crystalline Tear of Loyalty "The desire to serve as a loyal companion, coalesced into a single priceless crystal"

So I've done two quest chains one in Northern Stranglethorn and the other on the Cape now teasing Zul'Gurub and even having to go in to do small events there and both times I end up being yanked back by the quest giver with a "Nope, you gotta wait." bit. They are obviously trying to build up to something but damn if I know where else to look at this point since if I try to visit Zul'Gurub normally the place is entirely empty.

Okay in theory I am down with harder TBC-style CC-happy heroics but I liked them because back when it was actually, you know, TBC, I could run them with the expectation that there would come a point when I wouldn't have to anymore.

I think people forgot that TBC didn't introduce Daily Dungeon/Heroic Quests until long after gear had trivialized those dungeons!

They're nowhere near as overtuned as the TBC heroics were to begin with, and the loot is universally in line with the difficulty, so I don't care at all that I have to run them a lot. Not that you didn't run them for ages back in the day anyway to get ready for raids.

Pugging is bad, but we're just spoiled by Wrath heroics that were easy at launch and only got easier. As I recall, the only time we ever wiped at early gear levels was to Loken, and eventually we just ignored every mechanic he had.
