BC had a lot wrong with it and a lot that was really, really right.

Karzhan is still the best instanced dungeon in this game and any other game I've ever played. If you could muster the people to do it, SSC was actually really fun, and they were finally starting to get away from the hybrid hate that plagued the development through the last two and a half years. Tanks and healers became more plentiful, and with badges of justice and heroic modes, getting people geared up for raiding was easier than it ever was during Vanilla. Rep grinds were shorter for better rewards and daily quests made repair bills less of a chore to deal with. I know a lot of you guys skipped most of BC, but after the first few months when they finally hammered the shit out to be functional, TBC was a very solid expansion.

Wrath was better on almost every level, though I have to say Arthas manages to paint himself as the most incompetent villain since Cobra Commander.

My BC Career:

Karazhan every Friday.
Arenas every other day.

Repeat until Wrath released.

You cannot use the Ebon Hold FP if you are not a DK. Good to know.

Wait, what? Does Wrath of the Lich King not have a coherent story arc now, or am I mistaken in my assumption that the climax of that expansion has just been removed by the new expansion?

The Lich King story line is taken as having happened in all the cataclysm content including the revamped zones, but both TBC and Wrath content exist in their own little time bubbles.

Blizzard has already admitted that it feels a bit awkward to level from 1-60 in the present and then go back into the past for 60-80 and is thinking about fixes.  They should probably do something like throw them both into Caverns of Time until they actually revamp them:  Hit 60, get a breadcrumb saying, "Good job, but you're totally not strong enough to take on Deathwing.  The Bronze Dragonflight is going to toughen you up by having you walk the steps of the heroes who saved us from Illidan and the Lich King."

I will say that ridiculous buffs and 4.0 and 30% or not, Lich King is an immensely satisfying fight. It's like Yogg-Saron or Mimiron HM: enough going on that it's really fascinating at all times, hectic as hell and all your gear buff layers won't necessarily save you. Did I mention immensely satisfying? Videos of the cinema and the last phase really don't catch how cool it is.

It's kind of a shame you were in 10-man and not 25.  You haven't experienced Lich King until you've experienced idiots spreading out and sending Valks in 3 separate directions but STILL managing to super-size a Defile.

Zones on the eastern kingdoms you SHOULD DO:

Tarren Mill (if undead or blood elf)
Silverpine Forest
Hillsbrad Foothills
Badlands
Blasted Lands

Zones on the Eastern Kingdoms you shouldn't fucking bother with
Arathi Highlands
Hinterlands
I hear stranglethorn vale hasn't changed much?
Searing Gorge if you're in a party because all the quests are broken
Burning Steppes unless you want a free firefly

The changes that are made to Stv are very good. The old nesingwary quests update in the field, the troll quests are trimmed down and link into Zul'Gurub, and you get to be a pirate captain.

Worgen starting quests are pretty intense. They don't get all their racial powers until ~5th level which should have been obvious if I'd thought about it at all. I had a lot of trouble with everything from the start up to the church just because of how many people were in the area; things are spaced out better from that point onward, so it's not quite as much of an obstacle. And oh, what shit then goes down. Goddamn.

Can't wait to try goblin tomorrow!
