meanwhile in levelling my goblin i did two full relatively speedy 19 bosses down random queues of BRD, one of which only had two tank-swaps and the second of which stayed together the entire length.

To be fair, now is the worst time you will ever, ever have using dungeon finder in this expansion, as almost all decent players will be running guild groups for the first few weeks.

true. hence "anecdotal" and "suggest."

But i definitely sympathize with the quoted post saying the dynamic has shifted to "can you guys finish X for me" for people who aren't haijin* and it makes it really very uncomfortable. And i've heard you all giving shit to Hraedon on vent, and i know i'm not as good as him even putting aside that my class is in a bad place now, so...

* TL note: "haijin" means "poopsockers"

The shit we were giving Hraedon has nothing to do with his actual tanking and everything to do with his inability to see fire due to poor camera control and no projected textures on laptop.

Hey as long as you're raiding you may as well officially destroy your reproductive capacity.

-can only gain one skill point per 24 hours using standard recipes
-odds of rare inks quartered since WOTLK
-amount of rare inks used to make items more than doubled
-still no way to learn new recipes through experimentation, etc
-still no dailies or craft quests of any kind
-goddamn fuck you

Sounds like you need some bootstraps.

Can't you just buy rare inks with the 200k gold you made since The Shattering

Norondor hates all things which are even the tiniest bit inconvenient.  While I normally tease him a bit for this, I propose that profession leveling at the moment is wildly imbalanced and needs fixes.

I really love inscription, but I'm with Nor on this. The last ten or so points really is hell - 12 inks, 12 volatile elements, 36 volatile life. The ink is really the murderous bit, The best farming spot I can find for herbalism right now nets me about 8 inferno inks an hour. And that's provided I have to deal with, at most, one other herbalist who knows the spot. Theoretically speaking you can cap from 515-525 on just ten inks thanks to Forged Documents, but that'll take you a minimum of ten days, because of the 24 hour cooldown. So you don't HAVE to set your money on fire, it's just the fastest way to get it done. Really everything after about 490 skill is retarded in terms of cost - I probably spent the better part of 6k last night just getting from 505 to 515.

edit; just bought 80 stacks of cinderbloom and I sincerely doubt this is going to max my inscription!

I went down the Enchanting/Tailoring road again and found my self wanting to DE the Blues and Greens I made rather then sell them. Unless they were the 85 pvp blues. PVP season just started and fireweave/emberweave things were going for around 800g each and selling fast. Enchanting mats are also ridiculous. 80g for one greater celestial essence and 28g per dust.  Not to mention if your not a tailor on a cloth wearer you best learn or you best be ready to pay a tailor big bucks for some spell thread or one of the epic pieces.

MEANWHILE, IN THE HALL OF SPEEDING UP THROUGH LOWER PROFESSION LEVELS

I'm heading through Outland now; Transmute or Elixir Mastery?

Transmute.  Always transmute.

Transmute is always good.

Potion is only good if you are really going to monopolize it, and surprise, one other Potion guy can shit all over that.

Elixirs is a mix: there are obvious times where EVERYBODY NEEDS FLASKS NOWNOWNOW, but they'll depreciate faster than Transmute.

Transmute is the easy winner, Elixir has a bit of appeal, Potions is for so zany underdogs.

Transmute is ridiculously good with truegold selling for 3k gold/ea right now, but Elixirs are probably going to be a much better choice for the first tier of raiding once high cost transmutes normalize in price. Transmute mastery will probably go right back to hammering Elixir mastery about three or four months from now when the next major content patch hits, though!

Transmute fits nicely into "log-on, hit button, post auction, collect profit from last auction", while Elixirs reward babysitting part of the AH.

Elixirs might actually be good for the first tier of raiding, but transmutes will be as well, and will continue to be good.  Making 3 alts with 450 alchemy master transmuters was the best decision I made in WotLK.

ATTENTION SCRIBES YOUR DOING IT WRONG.

Sell Mysterious Fortune cards. 98g each. Chance to get 5000g from the card. People have a gambling problem on my server.

Good idea. People generally suck at statistics, as my generalization in this post proves.
