Didn't realize the Amiga was supported that late and by that many then-A-list publishers.

Is Space Asshole worth the five bucks?
Yes it is.  Spent a few nights a couple of months back playing the game and tweeting the experience as I  crashed my car through people's houses.  It's a GTA clone with destructible buildings, and is as fun as that sounds.  Plus you can rant about space communism.

I bought the Dawn of War II pack for £20, against my hunch to wait for a better deal. Today I noticed that the THQ Complete Pack pack contains the Dawn of War II pack and costs £26, including eighteen other games.

Didn't realize the Amiga was supported that late and by that many then-A-list publishers.

It did reasonably well until about 1994-1995. Commodore folded, Doom and Windows 95 were released for the IBM PC, and Sony released the Playstation. It wasn't that the Amiga couldn't keep up, hardware-wise, but that all the advanced Amiga hardware was in the form of expensive third-party expansions. So while the user base of cutting-edge Amigas was actually shrinking, the PC and Playstation user bases were taking off in a big way. After about 1997 most major publishers had left the Amiga market.

The HOL Amiga games database lists 503 commercial releases in 1994, compared to 754 in 1991. 1995 has half as many as the previous year, and half as many again in 1996. Most of the big titles after that are from Amiga-specific publishers, even the Amiga ports of big titles like Myst, Quake and Quake 2.

Sweet Christmas, that's a shitload of sandbox games.  I can't tell if it's because Valve hates free time or if it's just because sandboxes are literally sixty-a-dozen now.

Tempted to overpay for Prototype, though, just for the experience of playing it literally side-by-side with Conduction Man.  I hear Alex Mercer doesn't have to bunny hop up buildings all the time to get around.

...what the hell happened to Alex, anyway?

He absorbed a prototype virus that gives him the ability to absorb and therefore take on the memories and attributes of any living thing. Mostly what he is is a shape shifter that can steal a myriad of different forms.

Tomorrow needs to come so I can finally stop going "Ooooo. _______ is on sale for $5? I'd be a bad friend for not getting it for _______" 6 times a day.

Perhaps you should focus less on being a good friend.

But so many people did not own Portal or TF2.  It was either spend a few bucks or cut them out of my life.

And I depended on two of those people for food for a while.

Guys, you're in luck!  Another chance to get World of Goo for $5!  Get it now, these deals only come around every 2 weeks.

Aaaand it's just a regurgitation of the last week's popular sellers.  I don't know why I'm disappointed, really.

They did the same thing during their holiday sale, I'm not sure how anyone could have not seen this coming.

Beat Hazard, Indigo Prophecy, Prototype, Space Asshole, and Rocket Knight.

I humbly eat any words I have muttered to the effect of this not being much of a Steam Sale.

Beat Hazard is the most generic shooter ever made, it has like five enemy types, and it looks like a raver on an acid trip ate an entire crate of glowsticks and puked directly onto your eyeballs.

I've clocked 22 hours on it so far.

I don't know what my problem is.

ASK ME ABOUT SPENDING MORE TIME WORKING TO BUY THINGS I DON'T HAVE TIME TO PLAY.
