Honestly, for me the one big failing of DNF is that there's not enough bad guys. If its many, many long stretches of empty hallways and rooms were filled to bursting with aliens, I could have forgiven its other flaws. There's literally tons of places in the game where I thought "man this room's layout is interesting, I bet/wish there's a big shootout here", but nothing happened.

Oh hey, Homefront is $14.99. Sort of interested in playing through the single player because :america:

I'd be more interested, but I've heard mostly bad things about it.

Homefront has some pretty cool (or, well, a better word might be "intense", given the subject matter) moments, but I don't know if it's got 15 dollars' worth of them, and the rest of the game is frankly dumb.

literally tons

:disapprove:

Dang, yes, call me on that stuff, I learned this language by osmosis and that doesn't always keep out the bad. Thanks.

Dawn of War 2 Free to play Weekend. Check your game lists (It's last stand and multiplayer. Not campaign)

If you have any inclination towards RTS I'd suggest giving this game a try. It's got it's flaws but hey, it's free to try. Couldn't hurt, right?

Re: interest in RTS and DoW2.

It should be noted that DoW2 is one of very few RTS I actually like, and people who don't like 'em should still give it a try. It's more about small group movement, so you don't have to do as much pumping out new grunts or deal with most of the bullshit micromanagement of other RTS games.

Actually because you have less units to work with in involves more micromanagement. The game has less macro since you aren't dealing with resource gathering and base building and you are probably only making one unit every few minutes.

A lot of the micro comes from the bad pathing your units have.  :nyoro~n: Still an awesome game for the price. It is a lot more causal RTS since half of the effort Relic put into the game was to make your dudes look cool while they kill shit.

Pathing and accidental retreats (I DIDN't WANT THAT UNIT TO RETREAT FUCK) are the two biggest problems with this game. I hope that they fix that for DoW3, because otherwise this game is solid.

It is more accurate to describe Dawn of War 2 as a tactical game than a strategic one, although generally "RTS" is used for both. It's fun, but I can't get unit movements down well enough to make me not uninstall the thing whenever I need room for something else.

We should all start playing against each other because the game is more fun that way.

Yeah, actually. I may have time to play it tonight and tomorrow in fact, but I'll warn you this weekend is looking pretty busy on paper. I'm pretty decent at it but I'm more than willing to observe and coach some games. Add me on steam

Bal also has it installed - but he's pretty rusty at it because he hasn't played in a while. Defen has it but HoN wrecked his DoW2 skills.

I could be up for a few rounds of vs, provided it's via Retribution.

We should also play Last Stand together because I'm pretty sure that if I ask strangers to tolerate my level 1 farseer waifu retardation they'll get hella mad.

Zombie Driver is pretty fun for 2.50 if you have a gamepad. I can't imagine how crappy the wasd controls would be. You drive around killing zombies, and so far the game hasn't thrown any ridiculous escort missions. As long as there isn't anything where you have to protect another car or something the game is pretty solid for the price.

So two days after I buy Bastion at full price there is a midweek madness sale.

It was still worth every penny. Go buy this if you haven't.
