Flying the SR-71

I grew up around this plane.  My father was with the ground support team on the mission discussed in the article.  I still think it's the most fascinating design we ever put in the air.

One of the neatest thing about that article are all the comments, often with their own stories as well.

I loved the bit about getting the engines started by redlining a pair of buick engines adapted to basically crank-start those massive ramjets.

Senor Mezcalito for SSF4.

Quote
Legends say that the fearsome Senor Mezcalito, or "El Agave Diablo" (the Devil Worm), was born the child of an impoverished alcoholic mother who, having very little money left, made the mistake of purchasing some radioactive tequila while she was pregnant.  The mutant agave worm, miraculously alive, somehow burrowed its way to her womb where it merged with the fetus.

Survivaball

At first I thought this was fake. Then I thought "Wait... are they were serious?". Then I saw 'harness power from wild animals'.

Regardless, it's a gas.
