Not entirely sure if this counts, but Scions and HARBINGER's TROLLMISSILES in ME2.

Yeah, Scions. Why doesn't Shockwave work work like that when I use it?

The original Pokemon Stadium was my first real moment of :MENDOZAAAAA: to me growing up.  Yeah, I found out later that Mario Kart WAS cheating, but I didn't realize it then.  Pokemon, on the other hand.

You had the Gym Leader castle.  Elite Four was standard stuff, but Lance had a the most douche pokemon in RBY rules ever.

A Dragonair that knew Thunderwave.  Since Dragonair doesn't have the double weakness Dragonite has, there's few pokemon that can one hit it, and even less available in the rental (in game) selection.

You'd do something.  Dragonair ThunderWaves.  You can't move.  Dragonair used Wrap.  In RBY, Wrap means you can't do anything as the computer nickle and dimes you.

Repeat until you either get lucky as hell or rage quit. :rage:

Sabrina's Slowbro in the second playthrough is an unstoppable monster, too.

isn't inventory management in almost every game extraordinarily nice to the player? You can in almost every instance carry FAR more than it would make sense for you to be able to.

Generally it's the player cheating in games that allow an inventory, since enemies rarely get to use items themselves.  How many times have you gotten through a battle simply by dint of having more potions?

DarkSims, in Perfect Dark, spawn with a shield equipped if there are any in the level at all. They have almost perfect accuracy (testing revealed it to be close to 98% or so, with a 50% headshot rate), can fire in 360 degrees, can fire extreme distances as easily as close (once, in the level with a huge gorge in it, I was playing against one of my friends and we each had a Sim teamed with us, his was a DarkSim, mine a HardSim, and I ran to get some ammo or something on the opposite side of the gorge. On his screen, which I was watching, I saw the DarkSim casually turn and fire a single fully charged shot with his mauler (pistol) which headshot me and killed me. From like, half a mile.)

Of course, the DarkSims had a disclaimer about how they basically were not harder than PerfectSims, but cheated, soooooo.

And you could exploit gaps in their AI to win with explosives or Laptop Sentry Guns, since they could not recognize either and would run into them over and over. But still, trying beating a DarkSim with rifles only in a level with a shield. Some of the challenges, iirc, required you to do this. Hope you've got 100% headshot accuracy!

With that controller?  Hah.  Now, when it comes out on XBLA next month, on the other hand... (I don't even own a 360 and I am salivating for it.  8 player co-op/versus, full Live functionality, and 60 fps.)
:pimp:

Anyway, the correct answer to this thread is M. Bison.  Much as I love Street Fighter Alpha 3, giving him a nearly unblockable INSTANT WIN attack is the pinnacle of Not Fun.

I would argue against M. Bison and his insta-win super, all you had to do was be really careful and never jump ever. Still though, he was kind of a dick, so yeah.

Seriously, Bal, I agree, but Omega Rugal is, like, chumpcakes compared to some of the other guys. Orochi and Igniz immediately come to mind, although Orochi only because of that one super that literally literally literally fills the screen.

I am going to go with DQ3 Cave of Enlightenment. It's not HARD, but it is 90% dead ends and throws away your time like goddamn confetti.

Story Mode fights where you get one chance to defeat a Golden Ultra Mode Character.

There, Guilty Gear XX is as fucking stupid as a SNK title.

Megalomania and Omni-Psych (EDIT: and Gamma Ray) basically mean you don't win unless the computer doesn't feel like abusing those moves (in Megalomania's case, because it's an infinite instant cancel, not because it's likely to kill you directly).

Just because there are worse examples doesn't mean those aren't pretty bad.

More than the cheating is the tendency for the challenge level to spike exponentially when you get to those fuckers.  There's basically no comparing the final fight and everything leading up to it sometimes.

There's a reason I never unlocked the Dodrio Game Boy tower in Stadium 2.

I picked Omega Rugal just because he's the one that hurt me most personally. 98 was my favorite KoF for a long time. Might still be, now that I think about it.
