That raises an important point. Why do we not have an emoticon equivalent to ?

I continue to be quite pleased with Mother 3, especially when I can get through a couple sentences in a row without using a dictionary. I wish I had more time to play games that aren't Hunting Unlimited 2009.

I gave the Ace Combat 6 demo a whirl to see how it was since the last one I played was Ace Combat Zero on the PS2.

I suck at this game, but it's totally awesome to fly around while attempting to gunning enemy fighters or cram a missile right into their ass.  I will have to subscribe to this newsletter.

The great thing about Mother 3 is that, no matter where you are in the game, it's about to get even better.

Seconding Niku.  After that, there's nothing preventing you from starting a new game.  So.

So is Eternity's Child like a $10 Flash game or what?

Eternity's Child is a lesson in not getting suckered in by early screenshots of a game.

Short Force Unleashed demo is short. Worrisome Tycho post is worrisome.

Gabe not finishing a Star Wars game? Unpossible. Still, the demo to full game conversion fuckering-up has occurred on my own dime before. Surprisingly, the Postal demo was a total hoot. Not until the full release did it become clear that every weapon was already offered in the demo, and no level in full retail bothered to top the - marching - band - is - on - fire moment also found within said demo. Here, however, I'm still vague on what exactly went wrong, as very little was offered in the Unleashed free offering.

I finished Halo 3 on the Normal difficulty setting today, and I don't really like that the ending I saw was basically "NOTE: MASTER CHIEF DIED ON THE WAY TO HIS HOME PLANET"

I heard Master Chief takes off his helmet, to reveal that all along he's been Duke Nukem. The entire Halo trilogy has been Duke Nukem Forever. Surprise!

SPECIAL UPDATE: That is not the ending.

I found that out shortly before I typed that post, but I would've hoped that the stuff they left out of the lower difficulty endings was a little less substantial.

Playing Beyond Good & Evil right after that HL2 marathon is indescribably disorienting.  I keep expecting Jade to get behind the camera and start spraying infinite bullets at the mindraping aliens.

I might not be able to get very far in this game, though.  It's another quality Ubisoft port.  I really should pay more attention when I see a game not on its own platform being published by Ubisoft.  You'd think after running at 1/4 speed through all the towns in PS2 Grandia II that I'd learn.

Played Iji Was both impressed and disappointed (The game is okay, as opposed to super cavestory great as a lot of indie folk have said). Much funner then it should be with bad combat and, bad dialogue and boring combat.

Considered a second playthrough as a pacifist then I noticed there wasn't all that much changings in the log books.

Fun but highly overrated.

All you really have to do to be praised as the new messiah by the indie crowd is to either A) make a game that isn't completely terrible, or 2) make a game that is so terrible that it falls out the bottom of terrible and warps back around like Pac-Man to being a brilliant work of deconstructionist art.

9 out of 10 games made by Cactus generate a kind of anti-fun that doesn't normally occur in nature, but because every one of them is an eyesore he's an indie darling.
