I played Final Fantasy Adventure and the anticipation of a remake of that game nearly knocked me dead. Hell holds no horrors for me after that kind of disappointment.

I'm playing some king of dragon pass lately. My strategy of getting thousands of people in the clan is working pretty OK. I think I can field a war party equal to a whole tribe now...

IN the meantime, I think I will also play the wishing for a good Mana game game.

I just played demon soul for something like 2 and a half hours and have not gotten past the first level yet. This game is fucking hard.

Bowser's Inside Story is just delightful.
It really is a lot more charming than I expected!

One thing about BIS I've noticed near the end of the game is that if you spend the time wandering around the world looking for all the buried items, you'll have leveled Mario and Luigi to the point where you can demolish all the harder fights with two or three Excellently executed special moves.  I don't know exactly how many bosses I've got left, but the ones I've beaten most recently went down rather quickly.

I am glad I just unlocked the Star Store though because I was thinking there was no way I was going to be able to spend all those coins otherwise.

It's likely that Raziel and Ashley Riot have a club dedicated to victims of Block Puzzle Syndrome.

Block puzzles were all the rage back in the days of the first Soul Reaver, though.  I don't think using them extensively these days is the most well thought-out game design.  ::(:

I will probably keep on playing, as I still really like the character advancement system in this game. Making players pick between gaining levels and carrying potions? Surprisingly brilliant!

IN the meantime, I think I will also play the wishing for a good Mana game game.

I've been thinking about this a lot, and I don't think SQE is ever going to deliver, especially since sales of their bullshit WoM games were low. I think someone else is going to have to fucking make one. With full-speed walking in combat AND combos. And Mono? Get that shit out of here.

I mean, the physics are kind of okay sometimes, but it's not Mana. I enjoyed Children's wild-ass enemy-knocking-about more than Mono, I felt like I could actually manage it better. Also, I loved Sword, I just wish it was multiplayer!  :perfect:

Dead Space: Extraction is the most entertaining on rails shooter I've played since Elemental Gearbolt. Was really impressed. Story was well-written and enough to encourage me to play the PC game, which is also actually pretty great.

Having now played both games, I can say that Extraction finally took care of the problem that Dead Space had, in that there are weapons other than the Plasma Cutter that are actually worthwhile to use. The line gun fires faster, the flamethrower consumes ammo slower, and the pulse rifle actually does decent damage. It's pretty amazing. Weapons that were just OK before - like the contact gun - have been beefed up to be usable primary weapons since their primary flaw (the availability of ammunition) has been nearly removed.

The downside of course is that the wii does not really handle graphics very well - it seems that only Nintendo themselves are capable of getting solid graphics out of this console without introducing terrible system lag, and games like Extraction just end up looking pretty bad - blurry, jagged, with the same kind of dirty brown textures we got used to on the playstation 2. The game looked a little worse than RE4 on the gamecube. There's a lot more going on on screen here, but at the same time this IS a rail shooter - it's not like we have to render as much.

Outside of the graphics the game has some rare (but irritating) glitches and is incredibly short. The ending is cryptic and not in a good way. Having said that, while I would not purchase the game, it is definately well worth a rental.

Hope for a good mana game is always funny to me, since everyone remembers SoM but that was really the black (good) sheep of the series.

Kingdom Hearts basically is the new Seiken Densetsu series, honestly.
