I rather liked the horror hairstyle. Are you playing DS or Wii?

Dokapon Kingdom => Wii
Dokapon Journey => DS

Horror for girls is fantastic hawtness. However, if you're playing as a dude the punk look comes with Kamina shades. Sooo close to getting Spellsword unlocked.

Because he's basically become the foil to boring good-guy Mario.  In this manner they can introduce character faults without necessarily applying them to the main character.

I don't really see a problem with giving previously one dimensional characters an extra dimension's worth of personality. I mean even Bowser doesn't get that much characterization beyond bungling villain.

When did it start anyway? I'm pretty sure it pre-dates Luigi's Mansion (sequel please), but I can't think of any examples. Was it Paper Mario?

EDIT: Research tells me it was probably Mario is Missing.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the current trend was kicked off by Luigi's Mansion.  Shit went down like this:

1) Game was originally going to star Mario.
2) Mario had to be inordinately afraid of shit in order for the game mechanics to actually work.
3) Miyahon pops up with "Hey we've been shitting on Luigi too much, let's make a game with him instead."  So they do.
4) Since Luigi was a side character to begin with, he becomes known for his "scaredy-cat" personality which was supposed to just be a temporary mechanic for the one game.
5) Nintendo realizes this isn't necessarily a bad thing, and runs with it.
6) ???
7) LOTSA SPAGHETTI!!!

On a side note, I really don't know where my sudden obsession with ordered lists is coming from.

I was going to say that I'm pretty sure Luigi had a tendency to get shit down as often as Mario in the cartoon.

It's a shame to me though, as they pretty much shit all over Luigi in almost any game he stars in as a secondary character (haven't played any of the Paper Mario games beyond the first long long ago) so much that it's not really funny now.

Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door: Luigi's role is basically having an off-screen adventure that's purposely close to Mario's. Talking to him and he makes it out like he's the hero. Talk to Luigi's helper and Luigi is a bumbling and clumsy fool.

Super Paper Mario:
He gets turned into Mr L and is one of the final bosses
The dichotomy is obviously (obviously) meant to be an exploration of the true nature of courage: is it found in overcoming weakness, or in never possessing that weakness in the first place?

Dragon Age: Journeys, a 2D flash game meant to introduce players to Dragon Age's world and story. Not bad so far! Fairly deep for a flash RPG. Plus, you can unlock items for use in the actual game.

Bioware has been going overboard with in-game unlockables - you can get in-game items for playing the Flash game, for preordering the game, for not buying the game used, and for buying the collector's edition.

I may have a full inventory at character creation.

As someone who dislikes "strategy" or "challenge" in his RPGs, I have no problem with this. I also may be a little pissed off at Bioware. I think it's because they're canucks and required to hate on kinky people.

Assassin's Creed is better than I expected. But I have a love of collect-a-thons and treasure. In fact, I'm really glad that they just flat out copied the Super Mario 64 style of gameplay, spread it out over cities, covered it up with a MATURE paint job and made an entire genre of action games that would barely play any differently if they actually starred Mario. inFamous, Arkham Asylum, Assassin's Creed, Prototype.. wink wink, mature.

I dunno why they make every Assassination target exist in a complex, stealth-based environment when they're so likely to spontaneously see you, stop your stab and force you to just hurf-durf beat them up in a sword fight, though.

But hey, only just did my second one, so..
Killed the Doctor. All this set-up with the roof path, the knowledge that their archer guards are strained/missing, when to perfectly strike the doctor, multiple clever ways in, and clever obstacles like paired guards to prevent you from just thinning them out or the fucking patrol retards who shove you out of Blend.

And what happens when I finally manage to corner the guy? He sees me IN-MID-ASSASSINATION ANIMATION and just blocks it. So I just wail on him with my sword and then butcher the guards because they're about as threatening as infants. Hurf Durf.
