Beyond Good & Evil has been entertaining so far (just finished the first not-tutorial level). Stealth sections tend to be best solved by murdering everyone with your disc-launcher in stealthy ways instead of just sneaking through it, which is fine if a bit silly at times.

From what I've seen of Fatal Frame the intense camera action doesn't really match it but whatever it was $6.

I got Space Invaders Extreme and Lumines from the same used game sale. It was a decent $15.
--
Also, I only get my games from a time machine so I am attempting to beat Megaman Legends and SotN*. I feel this failure reflects on my intelligence.

Seriously what the hell is with the large robot with a homing tackle?

*This doesn't really have much to do with the game, or anything really, but weaving a single line into a bunch of contorted knots doesn't make it not a line.

Suggest you try Freespace 2, get the source code project tack-on as well if you are going down that route.

Also, Killer 7 and Prince of Persia Sands of Time are memorable from that era.

For single player romps, this seems like the smarter way to go.  When it comes to trinkets, I'm a bit fan of yesterday's technology today.

So somebody decided to make something useful out of the PS3's Home thingy, and made an actual videogame out of it.  Sodium One is a pretty fun hovertank shootery thing, so if you haven't deleted Home yet you might want to check it out.

All the previous bosses in Megaman Legends can be completely cheesed out by circle-strafing, so this one just makes you jump while circle-strafing.

The PSP version of Fieldrunners is, surprisingly, a significantly enhanced version from the one I picked up when I had an iPhone; there are five maps instead of three, and the presentation feels slightly snazzier than when I last played it eight months ago; the explosions are a little brighter, maybe?  It costs a few dollars more, but I think it's worth it; having tried a few other tower defense games since then (PixelJunk, Ninja Town, and Desktop), none of them have really scratched the itch quite like this one does.

Yeah, I got all the achievements except one because at a certain point in the game, the little errands just stopped showing up at all.

I farmed a few achievements, but became frustrated when I realized the GREEN THUMB achievement for picking 30 flowers from gardens was unattainable for me, because I had the audacity to complete Art 5 (which meant I no longer had to give people gifts in order to kiss them), leaving me with an inventory full of flowers I couldn't even throw away.

I got Torchlight because it was $5, and then found out that there's no way to adjust the gamma or brightness. I want my $5 back.

The Wonderful End of the World is a really bad katamari ripoff without good music or graphics, i would recommend it to no-one.

AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! - A Reckless Disregard for Gravity, however, is original and inspired!  I played a lot of it this morning, and was pleasantly surprised with how it introduces new mechanics in a graceful way and encourages you to revisit old stages with the new tricks you've discovered.  Excellent writing, too; I would recommend it to virtually anyone.

So I'm playing Mirror's Edge that I got cheap on Steam, and the tutorial only shows the 360 controller buttons.  I mean, what the fuck?  How hard could it have been to replace the appropriate button with whatever key you have it assigned to?  Is this supposed to be a full retail product?

I guess they thought you had a 360 controller hooked up to your computer. Still a pretty dick move, though.

Get ready to die. A lot.

Yeah, "go buy a 360 controller" is a recurring issue with 360 ports. I think it was what kept me from ever really playing Lost Planet.

I got Zombie Driver today for $2 and it's pretty cool so far.

Also I broke down and bought Sid Meier's Railroads!, and I am expecting it will be much more fulfilling in a locomotive sense than Spirit Tracks has been so far.

In fairness, the 360 controller is really nice.

I picked up Sonic's Genesis Mega Collection for the 360, 'cuz, hey, Beyond Oasis and Phantasy Star IV. But, boy, I remember games on the Genesis looking a lot better.

I mean, this shit doesn't even come close to the Super Nintendo.

Well, if it weren't insulting enough, I have four 360 controllers, but they're all wireless so they won't sync to my PC unless I buy another doodad.

I thought the PC ports of Arkham Asylum and Borderlands were pretty blatant, but this just reeks of laziness.

There's no option to change the type of controller?  I know Last Remnant let you do this.

That little doodad is, like, $14 dollars.

The PC port of Assasin's Creed kept the little icons and stuff colored like they were 360 controller buttons, but at least if you change it when the tutorial tells you how to do something it lets you know with the key you have it currently assigned to.
