I actually paid money for Space Siege. Not the utter suck party it's hailed to be, but them again, I typically enjoy bad games. However it deviates from the norm in a few ways. It's like Dungeon Siege, only without an inventory system or loot. There's like a total of 9 guns, and the cybernetics have this shadowrun feel due to the ENORMOUS 'Humanity' guage in your character info tab.
It's a graphically impressive run and gun, but the skill hotkeys were horribly laid out and do not appear to be remapable. It uses 1 to 10 and F1 to F10 for your robot buddy.
Beyond your robot buddy, there are no party members to gather.
Also I like the voice actors, but it's mainly because it's Batou, Major Kusanagi, and Spike changing their tone of voice slightly to voice pretty much everyone in the game. But you know what? Their voices are awesome so I don't care.
The plot is the most dry thing in the world, and they railroad you to everything so even the most obtuse idiot can figure out the plot miles before the events happen.
Turns out this actually uses the new Nvidia PhysX driver. There's a lot of exploding objects, bouncing crates, and pressure filled canisters that zip off and explode if you so much as look at them funny. They even make FIREWORKS noises.
Game actually has some replay value, as the plot forks at a particular point. Though you should really just save right before the fork. (When you get to it, load the autosave that occurs like fifteen seconds before.)
TLDR; Graphically impressive game that has no new gameplay to offer. If you like games that put you against endless wave after wave then you might get some enjoyment out of it.
