Did you edit it to point to a site that didn't have 5 out of 6 links broken, and the last one corrupted?

No, merely a site that points out that there are certain other sites that are useful for searching the internet when trying to find things.

Well, that's where I got the same copy of it that I've been using for the past ever. Didn't occur to me to double-check.

This looks pretty cool. Looks like a cool guy actually got to prototype something he likes and then actually make it. Under EA no less.

I really like the idea, I just hope it's as good in practice as it seems in theory. I have a feeling that constantly switching back and forth between screens could break the flow of the game in bad ways, but I'd like to give this one the benefit of the doubt.

I didn't really like WEWY's split-screen set-up, but it wasn't a deal-breaker.  I like the mechanic for Hatsworth in theory, and the dramatic pause (late into the video) while beefing up shots looks like it'll have the game less frantic than WEWY got with puck-passing.  (Fucking taboo noise.  Jesus.)

It looks like a pain in the ass to control, honestly.  TWEWY was kind enough not to expect you to be using all the buttons in the game, and you could honestly get by just with frantic mashing for the most part.  This looks more like the sort of bifurcated control pad scheme reminiscent of Ranger-X.

...

Wait a minute, Ranger-X was fucking awesome.  NEVERMIND!

I've been playing Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise, and after the tutorial segment the game feels like a really good expansion pack of the first one.  They changed some of the pinatas' requirements, made the romance minigame more strategic, and added a ton of new items and stuff.

I'd say I'm pretty pleased with it so far.

It looked to me like the top screen paused while the bottom was active and vice versa, so you're either playing a puzzle game or a platformer but not both at the same time.

I edited it back!

I hate to drudge this up so far after the fact, but why exactly do you want Lyrai to remain dependent on the boards for any information?  I did a similar thing with the Achewood comic, but that example had no contextual information to search for.  In this case, all you literally had to do is put "cave story" in Google.

Okay, so I was a dick about it, but that doesn't change my opinion that teaching someone to be self-sufficient on finding stuff on the internet is much more helpful than handing them a fish every time they ask for it.

I still don't have Cave Story.

This is because my game backlog is so full that I can't imagine putting any more in it (which reminds me, I was going to play Thaddy's Mod today.  I'll get to that in a sec.)  Having the link staring me in the face saved me a couple steps, and once it was so convenient I was more inclined to shrug and give it a whirl.

Then it became inconvenient again, so I dropped it.  But still!

So, I'm in Killadelphia for awhile and I want to get  my Cave Story on, but I've only got my crappy Ubuntu laptop. Found a debian package of the game which I managed to install, but it runs :slow:, and the config program refuses to, you know, save the changes I make to it.

Tried to install the windows version with wine, but the stupid background image seems to overlap the dialog box that actually controls installation. Lame.

The Mac version runs pretty well, but I don't have access to that lappy too often. Sigh. Back to Dragon Quest IV.

This is a common problem and IIRC has a simple solution (Desktop Mode or somesuch thing).  Try Google.
