This is a common problem and IIRC has a simple solution (Desktop Mode or somesuch thing).  Try Google.

Brilliant. This seems to do the trick. Gracias.

...but the future refused to change. Game still runs like a quadriplegic pig in molasses. But at least in Wine it can run in a window.

I was grinding in DQ4 for about an hour for crap in chapter 3, and then all of a sudden I got a random battle with weird music. I look at my DS and I see an inkeeper. I'm almost disappointed that I can't accidentally gib him into a thousand pieces.

I have 5000 gold.  I only need 200 more for my epic flying mount, and there's twice that much in my auctions currently posted.  This is driving me fucking MAD.  Someone buy my stuff already!

And yes, I am aware that I can simply do like 10 quests to get that amount, but I have to go to bed.

So, I just got Armored Core: For Answer. That's the one we almost didn't get because Sega thought North America didn't like it...

Does it have AC4's problem with missions that last all of 60 seconds?

And is AC customization better than it was in 4?

The missions still seem a little short, though a couple seemed to be deliberately so ("You have three minutes to ransack this place"). The Vanguard Overboost sections extend it a little, but not by much. And a couple sorties consisted mostly of little guys going "Look out, it's an AC- *DOUBLE-BAZOOKA'D!!*" So I guess the short answer is Yeah, I guess so? I'm not so sure, I've only complete chapter 01 of... I'm not sure.

I appreciate the added option to switch between Assembly, Tuning, and Stabilizing by clicking the left stick instead of cycling through menus and having to dismiss pesky automatic settings. And the menus seem to be layed out a little more conveniently, but I'm annoyed that they've switched back to a separate Shop section. Having to buy left and right back weapons irks me a little, too. The coloring menus are pretty similar to the last one (which I think is a good thing), but we're still stuck with those stupid emblem elements from Chromehounds. Schematics are still around, too.

ZOMG EDIT!: While affiliated with GA America, I've noticed a distinct lack of laser blades. The only blade-like weapons I've acquired so far include a crappy hammer I stole from the bottom-ranker, a pile bunker, and a decent blade that's too large to use as a hanger weapon. This will most likely be different in other companies, though; GA America seems to like heavy machines from the looks of the standard mech, which packs dual bazookas.

I love Samurai Warriors 2 because Hideyoshi is the best character in the entire series and now he and Magoichi Saika team up for a Buddy Movie.

IT WAS ANOTHER DAY IN THE ERA OF CHAOS WHEN EVERYTHING WENT STRAIGHT. TO. HELL!

HIDEYOSHI TOYOTOMI IS... MONKEEEEY

MAGOICHI SAIKA IS... SMOOOOOTH

TOGETHER THEY'RE WHITERING BITTER BETRAYALS AND THE ASSASSINATIONS OF LIEGE LORDS! YOWZA!

TUNE IN THIS FALL FOR THE BREAKOUT HIT DRAMEDY "MONKEY AND CRANE", MONDAYS AT 1560 ON KOEI!

(also Hideyoshi has the best speed the best reach the best hat the best cute wife and the best worst lines holy fuck Hideyoshi rules)

Okay, no, that's it.  That is way, way, way too many stealth sections.  We're fucking done here, BG&E.  Go home.

Well fuck, I was going to go back and wrap up FFXII after this, but I really need a good game to play now.  Hrmm.

You can't dislike BG&E! During that terrible age in which every action game had to have obnoxious amounts of collecting trinkets and annoying stealth sequences, Beyond Good and Evil had... uh...

It had a lot of green in it.

Ubisoft released Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time almost simultaneously, and it had none of that shit.  It's also, very rightly, not completely fucking forgotten about.

You say that like the stealth puzzles were difficult or something.

Speaking in my capacity as somebody who loves BG&E so much I bought it twice, and I can't get 15 minutes into Metal Gear Solid because I'm so bad at stealth games.

Fuck it, i think i have the discs around here someplace.
