it's actually pretty easy once you find a few time upgrades, but I agree that it's totally lame

You actually have more time than the time limit says. When it hits 0, the gas starts damaging you, half a heart every few seconds. You can still escape if you're speedy with the safe zones.

i don't care, it sucks ass that i have to do it and i know i have to retread it later every time i get anything done.

So, I got to the final boss in Serious Sam 2.

I don't think there's really a legitimate way to kill him.  Everything I've read says to save a Serious Damage powerup from the previous fight so you can kill him before the bombers show up, but isn't that basically cheating?  At that point I may as well enable god mode.

Oh hey, there's my counterargument to everyone saying BG&E's stealth sections weren't exactly interestingdifficult.

Anyway, Oblivion's actually not so boring if one accepts it as a sandbox game rather than some sort of RPG.  This slight change in mindset makes me not feel so bad about doing dumb shit like looting the universe and selling it all back to the merchants.

And see, that's why i said that i want to play through BG&E again before i make too many sweeping claims about its quality.

Steam is giving away Darwinia with pre-orders of the sequel, Multiwinia. I appreciated the clever Amiga references in the opening, but the game is very short despite simple graphics. By the time you've learned the right way to use all the units and technologies, the game is over. The last level is deceptively easy, since you only need to rush and destroy three points rather than kill all enemies.

Multiwinia excites me... but should it?  Defcon wasn't as good as it could have been, and while I always thought Darwinia's gameplay would translate well to multiplayer, I'm not sure how correct I was.

Okay, so I beat Mental Institution legitimately after all.  I guess all I needed was some sleep and the presence of mind to actually use quicksaves.  Those bombers are hard to shoot down, but possible.  It looked like I was hitting them before, but I suppose not.

I really liked the phantom hourglass uber-dungeon. It was very rewarding to go back through some section you'd had a hell of a time with and burn through it in ten seconds flat with your new item or whatever.

...And I liked Beyond Good & Evil.

Maybe I'm just weird.

So I didn't realize that if you join a guild, all the guild members nearby will assist you in combat against anyone attacking you... even city guards.  I ended up sparking some sort of massive revolt against the government of Chorrol entirely by accident.

Frankly, the only part of it that's gotten to me has been the extreme exaggeration of the Russian accent's diction, and I can accept that as being silly rather than being stupid.

I found the dialect and accents in DQVIII to be charming because they were very well acted.

I find the dialects in DQIV annoying because they take a bit too much effort to read.

Honestly the thing that's most upsetting to me is when names were changed for no real reason.  It's Cristo and Brey and Mara and Nara and Necrosaro and Edgar and Santeem and Keeleon, not Kiryl and Borya and Maya and Meena and Psaro the Manslayer and Mahabala and Zamovska and Marquis Regent, goddammit.  And Ragnar is a Swedish name, not fucking Scottish.

So, uh, this is an odd thing to ask, but can anybody recommend a good, er, nude mod for Oblivion?  I ask this because I hate the huge fucking diaper underwear that appears on every corpse I strip bare in my endless quest to pillage and sell every item in the world, but most of the nudity mods I've seen are, erm, pretty fucking creepy in their attention to detail.  And this coming from a guy who's about to rape a prepubescent android.

There might just be Pretty Underwear mods you could use instead.
